  1. Went out off west Wales coast on sunday, very rough indeed, too rough, so rough i was sea sick. Let me tell you now being seasick on a kayak is not funny (at the time), I'd never thought of it before, I was unnable to lean over the side for the fear of tipping over i had to lean forward, not a pretty sight, I'll never have the same look on my fishfinder again.Still it was a great day, plenty of mackies and a gurnard. Looking back, the lads fishing off the point must have had a good laugh watching.
  2. Went down Aberavon about 2.30, too rough for me. I'll post next available window of opportunity
  3. I'm thinking of going out tomorrow afternoon around two thirty'ish if anyone is interested.
  4. I decided this winter to sell the solid stable mini X and buy a longer kayak, I'm more confident on the water now and want to venture further, so I bought a Perception Freedom Angler, this thing is the dogs rowlocks, its stable and a lot faster than the mini X, but it let in a bit too much water from the waves for my liking, so I returned it to Swansea Canoes. They exchanged it and I took the new one out via the surf today off Aberavon for a few hours, no fish but a great day on the water, (sorry to the angler on the short arm whose line I caught with my trolling lure) I've checked the yak over and its dry inside. THANK YOU SWANSEA CANOES Roll on warmer weather and migrating fish. There are lots of kayakers in South Wales so we'll have a meet soon.
  5. I'm up for it when the weather calms down and warms up, sold my mini x and bought a freedom angler last week, can't wait to try it out. see you all soon Martin

  14. don't know about plastic but screwfix sell stainless steel ones £4.99 for two, also try stainless direct a shop on ebay. hope this helps.
  15. Oxwich has always been popular with boat anglers because of the concrete launch ramp, as for the kayakers it is ideal as it is sheltered from the wind most of the time and there's an old sunken wreck out about 500yards which always holds fish. There were lots of anglers fishing off the rocks yesterday, and a few kayakers just having a paddle. Parking is just off the beach so launching is the yak is easy. Also www.euphoriasailing.com Have a shop on the beach and they hire out kayaks by the hour if anyone wants a try at yaking
