  1. http://www.facebook.com/wfnhookinup Just a little something to wet your appetite! Myself and a workmate struggle to get the time to go fishing together and this weekend our time off has coincided for Sunday and off we are going. An older driver at work just looks at us and shakes his head saying " why bother just sitting there watching this float thing go up and down all day, doesn't it get boring" This is the man who comes to work even if he doesn't have a job to do to escape his missis who gives him serious grief (divorce in the offing)! All we can say to him is if he'd rather get that grief or be shoving a coach up and down the country as we normally do who's got the problem? 49 years old, been fishing since I was a nipper, ain't never gonna change!
  2. It's just a 3 lake day ticket water, what's the problem with that? £10 for two rods! It's owned by the Godalming Angling Society, who have night fishing waters, but with Marsh Farm they are offering non-members a chance to catch some really nice Tench,Crucians and silver fish. It's also thought that a record Crucian will come from there some time. Admittedly the net rule seemed a bit restrictive but as I've pointed out they seem to have modified this. I've been mainly carp fishing behind alarms for a while (when work allows) but want to watch a float or a tip for a change, this is a good venue for this. Last time I was there I had Crucians over 2lb and several Tench topped by a 6 pounder.
  3. Just to add, the rules section of the website does not appear to have been amended but the Day Ticket section and News Section has. http://www.marshfarmgodalming.co.uk/News/news.htm http://www.marshfarmgodalming.co.uk/Day_Ti...Day_Tickets.htm Bearing in mind the catch reports are from April last year they ain't too great at keeping the site up to date!
  4. I'm going there tomorrow and saw this on their website. I phoned up to clarify the situation and they said that if you bring your own net they will inspect it to see if it's dry and if ok you can fish through to closing time after the shop closes. I've checked their website and since I first looked earlier in the week it has been amended to say this. Looking forward to it and the weather looks good too!
  5. On the advice of Wareham Tackle we ended up at Todber Manor up near Shaftesbury and be honest it wasn't great. We fished Wadmill lake and even though it was mooted as the runs lake between the 3 of us my mates got a carp each at about 5lb and I weighed a Bream to 5 which I caught on my float rod having got bored looking at my bite alarms. It was the same around what we could see of the lake, although it looked to be getting a bit better at dusk. We stuck it out until about 8.30 but lack of proper night equipment/shelter meant we had to go. Was a nice day out away from the rat race and beer was consumed when we got back to Poole
  6. Beeches Brook is no boilie but Hordle website says in moderation which suits my usual method of fishing, ie 1 boilie + a PVA bag of pellets.
  7. Myself,a mate and his son were supposed to be going to Broadlands near Southampton on Saturday for a bit of lazing in front of our buzzers but have found out the main lake is closed for a charity match. Now we are going to be based at his sons flat in Poole and he will be coming from his girlfriends in New Milton. We are not expert carpers by any stretch of the imagination but have caught up to 17lb before (me at Twynersh, Chertsey last weekend, my PB) and would prefer to stick two boilie rods out and wait or maybe do a bit of floating if bored later. Any suggestions at all? And sorry I've not posted much, I just haven't had the chance to do much fishing for some time!
  8. Lucy's Granpa died & she went to comfort her Gran. In conversation it came out that Granpa had died while making love to Gran! Lucy was horrified that two people in their 90's were having sex! Gran explained they would make love every sunday morning to the sound of the church bells, nothing too strenuous just in on the ding & out on the dong! If it hadn't been for that bloody ice cream van he would still be alive today!
  9. If you receive an email entitled 'Bedtimes' delete it IMMEDIATELY. Do not open it . Apparently this one is pretty nasty. It will not only erase everything on your hard drive, but it will also delete anything on disks within 20 feet of your computer. It demagnetizes the stripes on ALL of your credit cards. It reprograms your ATM access code, screws up the tracking on your VCR, and uses subspace field harmonics to scratch any CD's you attempt to play. It will program your phone auto dial to call only 0908 numbers. This virus will mix antifreeze into your fish tank. IT WILL CAUSE YOUR TOILET TO FLUSH WHILE YOU ARE SHOWERING. It will drink ALL your beer. FOR GOD'S SAKE, ARE YOU PAYING ATTENTION?? It will leave dirty underwear on the coffee table when you are expecting company. If the 'Bedtimes' message opened in a Windows 95/98 environment, it will leave the toilet seat up and leave your hair dryer plugged in dangerously close to a full bath. It will not only remove the forbidden tags from your mattresses and pillows, it will also refill your skim milk with whole milk. *** WARN AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN. *** And if you don't send this to 5000 people in 20 seconds, you'll fart so hard that your right leg will spasm and shoot straight out in front of you, sending sparks that will ignite the person nearest you. Send this warning to everyone!!! THERE'S A LOT OF SADNESS IN THE WORLD! Right now, as you read this, 17 Million people are having SEX!!! And look at you - you're on the bloody computer!!!!
  10. Well they're both back so who knows! How Pakistan could affect a forum for an old 80s band I don't know. All a bit strange as other people on the forum have had no problems.

  12. As the title says I'm having problems getting to a couple of my favourites. Youtube is one and the other is a site relating to a band I follow. All other favourites are fine including a few p**n sites so security doesn't seem an issue. I mainly use Firefox but also have the same problem using Explorer. I can't even link to Youtube from Google or another site. Very strange problem. I have done all the usual restarts and cache clearing but nothing, any help gratefully recieved.
  13. The day ticket water I fish has some good margin fishing with carp 6lb upwards. I'm looking to spend say £30-£40 on a float rod with a fairly high line capability and the strength to cope with the odd double figure lump. Any recommendations at all?
  14. Yup, my guvnor is loving it, what with the price of diesel he's also had to spend in the region of 500 grand on 4 coaches that will be LEZ compatible. Oh and yeah the whole fleet is 5 so 4/5ths had to be replaced. My view is this. A bit off the original post but relevant to London I reckon. 50 years ago we drove around in cars that had crappy exhaust systems, carbs that had to be adjusted every other day and 4-5 star petrol. Nowadays nearly all cars have catalyst converters, ECUs that control the fuel systems and we have lead free fuel. Most companies are developing hybrid vehicles so it seems that in maybe another 50 years time we will all be driving something that puts next to nothing into the atmosphere. So all I say to Ken and the like is be patient, it will happen maybe not in our lifetime but it will happen. In the meantime FFS give the people of today a chance to trade and compete to at least leave some kind of legacy for our descendants. Back to the tunnel...........what kind of difference must there be to emissions with all these vehicles now virtually stationary as opposed to flowing when the third lane was in use. Livingstone..........I say it again, To**er!
