  1. Jerry, I am really struggling to organise this predator fishing trip to Holland, I really need some information on guides and location. If you have tried to email me though my profile then the email address is wrong. If you can help me please get in touch at paulsmallinson@yahoo.com
  2. Jerry, I would be pleased to hear any information on both location and tactics for a trip to Holland Pike Perch and Zander fishing. Me and My mate are looking to book somewhere fairly soon. We would also like to have a guide for at least part of our trip. Cheers Paul
  3. Hi Jerry, its only in the early stages of planning at the moment. Thanks very much for your offer of help. As for where we would be fishing, I havent a clue. I have no experiance of fishing in Holland at all so I would need to find out where would be best to go, maybe you could give me an Idea. As for accomodation, we would most likely stay in a bed and breakfast or similar. Thanks Paul
  4. Hi Jerry, Me and a Friend would like to come over to Holland next year to fish for mainly Pike and Zander. Could you give us any help with locations, i.e. places to fish, We would be fishing with lures and deadbaits. There dosent seem to be much information on the internet about fishing in Holland but form what I have seen the predator fishing looks very good, although we would probably need a guide? Thanks Mally
  5. Might go chub stalking! Then I've got a three day holiday (monday tuesday wednesay) fishing the yorkshire rivers for barbel and chub!
  6. UK fishing Tackle, do you mean the place at Kirton, Willow bank fisheries? Just wondering because I was thining about having a go for a cat and as such went to have a look round the fishery. When I got back to the car having had a look round I was approched by a Man from across the car park with a very determined look about him. The conversation went somthing like this, Said man: Can I help you (aggressive manner) Me: Not really, I've just been for a look round the ponds because I was thinking about coming and fishing. Man: Well there my ponds, i'm the owner. Me: Ok. Man: Why didn't you come and ask me. Me: Didn't know I needed two, I was only having a look round. Man: Its not a f**king park you know. Me: I know it not it's a fishery. At which I got back into my car and drove off. Iff he thinks I will ever be going back to his fishery again then he is stupid. I dont know how he thinks he can talk to his prospective customers like that. Since then I have spoken to other people about him and they have all said he is an ar*ehole. Not only that, all his fish are bought in from abroard and on top of that the lakes are perfect rectangles of about half an acre and uniform depth I should think. Its a long time since I have seen anywhere so un-inspireing. Its would be like fishing in a (very dirty) goldfish bowl.
  7. Just a thought but why dont you have a look at the shelter/shelter delux from Millets, the delux version cost about £20 and it is basically like a small shelter with a front door on it (the delux part is the front door) they come in green as well and look ideal for fishing, I have just bought one but I havent used it yet.
  8. Same as above, If you have a Meadow mouse and any surface lures then I'm intrested. Cheers Mally
  9. So this 'brilliant' attacking french team that deserved to win, where abouts were there attacks, all they did was repeatedly cross the ball into our box and we headed it away! Both there goals were from static ball situations, we created as many chances as they did. We played well and our players left the pitch with there heads held high and rightly so, they played well and only lost through bad luck. By far worse was our defeat by the All Blacks, who, much as it pains me to admit it, were awesome!
  10. The current perch record came from a comercial carp water, I would say 99% of carp fisheries have perch in them, and most of the have big perch!
  11. Thanks for the info, Just have to find out what a two hook clipped down rig is not, but no doubt there will be diagram somewhere on the net, I'll have a look at your site later, off for me lunch, night shift!
  12. Thanks for the reply Macky, Where abouts on the Humber wall though as there is pretty much a wall along most of its length, are you talking about down at Stallinbrough? WOUld you use a rig with the lead tied to the bottom and two hooklenghts coming off the mainline furthere up using somthing like ragworm for bait?
  13. Hi Everyone, I've done a little bit of sea fishing in the past when I lived in Scotland for two years but now I'm back home and this summer/winter I would like to getting out and do a bit, I live very close to the Humber but upstream (if thats the right term) of Barton, Can anyone recommend anywhere in this area to fish? I understand that under the Humber Bridge is quite a good spot, If so what would I be catching and how would you fish it and on what tides? I'm not to bothered about what I catch but a chance of somthing to take home and eat at the end of the day would be nice! [ 15. May 2004, 10:12 PM: Message edited by: Mally ]
  14. Thanks for that Tyke, We never did get round to either that Bain Session or having a go on my club water for the Tench. Hows things going with your fishing anyway, did you get to the bain yourself? I had a Crap season, didn't get out nearly as much as i would have liked, and failed miserably on the barbel/trent front.
  15. Thanks for the Info lads, Just have to wiegh up the pros and cons of swappling cars now and decide what to do.
  16. I'm thinking of buying one of the above and I was wondering if any of you know how well a full compliment of fishing tackle fits into a 106? Also secondly if any of you have any experiance of owning a 106 roland garros or a smilar car, what are they like?
  17. Okay, These are extracts taken from a EA press release found elsewhere on this site, Enforcement teams made checks on 1057 waters across England and Wales between 1 and 3 May and caught 1,122 illegal anglers who are cheating the 12,700 licenced anglers out of valuable resource – and not playing the sport fairly. Environment Agency Head of Fisheries Dafydd Evans said "Environment Agency inspectors checked over 14,000 licences" Can you spot the mistake her or is it just me? They checked 14,000 licences? But the 1,122 anglers they found without licences were cheating the 12,700 licesenced anglers? It then goes on to say, The message is sinking in with evading anglers, as the rate of evasion dropped from 8.45% in 2003 to 7.93% this time round. Do they honestly think they caought everone who was fishing without a licence that day, and that everone who fishes without a licence was fishing? The true 'evasion rate' must be somewhere nearer 50%+?
  18. "the ones who worked 39 in 4 were easily recognisable by their zombie like apperance" Where I work in four days we work 48 hours, in two weeks we work 168 plus about 4-5 hours OT, some people on a good trip get 40+ hours OT The other day we were in the sh*t and one lad did 6.30am till 8.30am not 2 hours, 14, and then he was back out at 11am. But then after all that, you get two weeks to do what the hell you like, mainly go fishing!
  19. Er, Dont know if anyones else has noticed but this thread is a year old. I think the guy has probably bought his rod by now. Mally

  21. Oh Jesus, I have loads of different faveroite hooks, For general fishing I dont think you can beat the Kamasan B520, if I could only ever use one hook again it would be the B520. Light hook but with a bit of extra strength for them bonus fish. For feeder fishing (except when fishing for barbel and chub) you really cannot beat the drennan carbon feeders in all sizes. I would never be without a large selection of these in my box, I genuinely belive they put more fish on the bank when feeder fishing, esp good for bream. On the pole for general use drennan fine mactches, for really difficult days drennan fine Pole hooks are used. For big fish I am now using some wierd make cant remember their name, the hooks come in quite a large plastic packet with 20 or so in, the type of packet that you normally get ten hooks in but bigger, ther is a picture of a fishing secene on the bit of cars I think. Colmic hooks are good for big fish as well. God I could go on and on, I think I have more different sorts of hooks for different situations that all the other anglers i know put together, I think I must have a hook fetish!! [ 30. 22. I dont know what a rack is either, it just seems to be a word that is used for certain stretches of the Trent, I've had it suggested that it is possibly somthing to do with the boulders that line the banks?
  23. The pond is at the bottom of Thealby hill. You could live in Winterton all your life and never know it was there. If you go through Winterton (presuming you are coming in from the bottom end from Appleby) to top road you will come to a round about on the A1077, left to Town right to Winteringham, Ferriby, turn right. About 100m down the road turn left down the hill (Thealby hill) when you are just coming into Thealby there is a right turn to Coalby, about 10m before that there is a gravel track go down there and the pond is at the bottom. If you go down on a Monday night there will be a match on and you should be able to sign up there and then. Ask for Alf, he's the secretary, Tell him Paul Mallinson sent you and if needs be I will propose your membership, but he will probably do it himself and get someone there to second it - they are usually looking for members.
  24. James I'm in Winterton. I havent fished the two in scawby, are you talking about the ones on the left just after you have crossed the motorway? Theres suppsoed to be some big bream in them. I think they were controlled by the club I'm a member of, ISAC (Iron and Steel Angling Club). Not any more though. How have you been doing? I would suggest joining the club if you like catching tench and or enjoy fishing the Trent. They have a pond at the bottom of Winterton which contains lots of tench to about 6.5lbs, Chub to about 5lbs, Crucians to about 2lbs, and bream to double figures. Also theres rumours of very large perch which are predatory and feed on the large number of small rudd.
