  1. hi everyone sorry this seems to be takeing a while but i have had a go on three occasions now to check out two boats and the weather has stoped me. so i will probably bite the bullet and just book the boat and see how we go !
  2. great i have had a good response to this, and as soon as i have gone out on a boat or three to see how well i am looked after, I will be back with dates and tides. as we will be fishing primarily for conger the tides will be moderate at worse. i am out on one of the boats i have been chatting to so hopefully it wont be long.
  3. not a problem, most good boats have tonnes of tackle and in general will only charge for end tackle.
  4. I would like to think all of those skippers have gone, prob not though, and your right it is not cheep so you want to feel as though they have at least tryed.
  5. thanks for you interest norm B ,you dont need to be a pro just keen and reliable i will need a phone number or email when we get the dates and tides sorted thanks again. oh yes how are you fixed for mid week trips or are you only avalible at weekends.
  6. thanks for the reply, i used to fish out of newhaven on nikaria a few years back ah those were the days, i will need phone numbers and stuff when i have all the interested partys, are you ok for weekends or mid week trips?
  7. I am going to try two boats and hopefully we will get treeted well by one! dates and tides to follow. have you done a fair bit of conger angling ? or wreck fishing.
  8. Hi i used to run trips, and have been talked into running them agian, we will be fishing out of the south coast for conger, but doing a bit of drifting for pollack and cod , i am chatting to a couple of skippers on well known boats at the moment to get avalible dates, we have a regular hard core 5 anglers and would like 4-5 more anyone interested ?
  9. yes, my wife said i am not allowed to go on charter boats anymore!!!!!!
  10. sorry this has taken a while to get back. I had a chuck around with a 9 ft and a 10 ft rod in flat calm conditions and they both performed very well, unlike my casting, i think i will go for the longer of the two, thanks for all the help.
  11. thanks, just one little questoin, the length of the rods, i was advised to keep it short in the 8 ft range would that be correct?
  12. thanks, I had a look down my local fly shop at hanningfield, but they did not have the rods you suggested. they do a salt range from greys though and a nice grafite reel, and not to dear! i have an old line i can chop so i will try that, thanks for the line tray tip as well. If i catch i will post the photos.
