When fishing in the winter I personally think the fish prefer more smelly baits as such, for example savoury baits. My favourite boilies to use in the winter are red indians which coincidently are superb all year round. Having said this heathrow baits are no longer being produced as Ian, the founder, has joint another company. I doubt it will be too long before they bring out near enough the same boilie for this company - just with a different name
In the summer I see it being a good idea to use bright, fruity baits and although pineapple does work i would advise to steer clear of it giving you an edge of having a unique bait. I favour Richworth's Tutti Frutti boilie myself. It's always a good idea to introduce a large pile of free offerings, these can be anything but I go for oily mixed pellets with a few scattered boilies in a pva bag.
I hope I have been of help to whoever has read what i've said and good luck fishing,
Dave
