  1. Cheers Jay mate By using a bottom bait of which is similar or the same as the pop-up (my hookbait), i can effectively create a sense of security and give fish confidence in believing the bait is 'safe' to eat. This increases my chances of having a fish. Also the idea of having freebies links to the idea of actually attracting fish into my swim, again increasing my chances. The main reason i want a bottom bait is to use one on the hair with a pop-up creating a critically balanced hookbait aiding hooking ability. I think you get my point by now... Sorry for not fully explaining myself before! Does everyone now understand why I want a similar bottom bait? Regards, Dave.
  2. I have recently bought flouro pink pop-ups (fruitella made by richworth). I want a flouro pink bottom bait to match these pop-ups. Does anyone know of such a thing regardless of flavour, I only care about the colour. Any suggestions would be much apprieciated. Thanks, Dave
  3. Keep it simple. Spod about 10 loads of whatever spod mix you have made up - make sure you use maize in the mix. Fish with maize on your hair rig. I'd say your pretty much gauranteed runs. After each fish caught put another 3-5 spod fulls on the spot and get your rod back out. Best of luck, Dgz Baitz, Tight Lines, Dave
  4. I hope your not expecting a big catch report because your going to be a bit disappointed. We never even went in the end - the lake was fully booked . We are now going to book a trip from Saturday 31st May (morning) - Sunday 1st June (evening). Fingers crossed we will have more than a few nice fish out. Fatzy, How did you have that 30lb fish out? Method, Bait, etc.. Dgz Baitz Tight Lines Dave
  5. Brilliant, look forward to seeing you up there mate.
  6. I'm going to fish Hawkhurst Fish Farm for the first time this saturday for a day session and just wondered what has worked for people in the past on the main lake. Any feedback would be much appreciated. Thanks, Dave DGZ Baitz Tight Lines
  7. I had three Okuma Undertaker baitrunners, at one point I was using these at least one day a week and up to the point i got new reels i never had a problem. Maybe it's the care you take with your gear? I mean, things don't break on their own do they?
  8. I have a Nash Zero Tolerance coat, I payed £35 and it has the potential to be the best part of my fishing equipment. Seriously, you can't go wrong!
  9. Hi mate, I can't bring myself to believe that you caught the same fish which has had an increase of 7oz in less than 24 hours - this is quite simply ludicrous . Well done for catching 97 carp though, etc etc. Tight lines Dave x
  10. When fishing in the winter I personally think the fish prefer more smelly baits as such, for example savoury baits. My favourite boilies to use in the winter are red indians which coincidently are superb all year round. Having said this heathrow baits are no longer being produced as Ian, the founder, has joint another company. I doubt it will be too long before they bring out near enough the same boilie for this company - just with a different name In the summer I see it being a good idea to use bright, fruity baits and although pineapple does work i would advise to steer clear of it giving you an edge of having a unique bait. I favour Richworth's Tutti Frutti boilie myself. It's always a good idea to introduce a large pile of free offerings, these can be anything but I go for oily mixed pellets with a few scattered boilies in a pva bag. I hope I have been of help to whoever has read what i've said and good luck fishing, Dave
