  1. Hi, could anyone advise how i can put my photo on on new topic i am creating. I tried cutting and pasting and uploading does not seem to work.
  2. Your not alone, i snapped my spinning rod this morning,,,,it was one i built myself with the last 7 foot of an old waggler rod, I have lots of snazzy kit but that little home made spinner was amungst my favourite items, i need to get a new one, let me know how your seach goes and what it is you opt for next mate.
  3. sorry guys but i ad pick the helicopter. if it said fishing in the general term it would have my 100% backing, but sitting for five days at a time with electronic alarms and super heavy lines would not be my idea of great time.
  4. I think there is a pretty mixed bunch out there who are allowed different levels of fishing. Having three kids under 4 years and working full time i think once a week is cool, but it could always be more.
  5. Am i alone in wanting to go fishing more than i am reasonably allowed to by the other half. I would like to get in 2-3 sessions a week. I only really get one pass a week. Anyone else out there?
  6. I agree i have not seen lead shot for donkeys years. Each club should ensure anglers are educated to the rules and regs. Most people i see fishing are very law abiding, only the odd litter leaver now and then.
  7. Hi mate i would say that 4,5 and six have definitly got some roach in them. A tell tell sign is the red mark in the eye just above the pupil. This is found in roach and not pure rudd. It is almost impossible sometimes to know if it is a bit of hybrid and they are very easlilly mated with other cyprinids such as the roach creating many strains of imediateary species.
  8. Hello All, I am going to fish for barble at the Old Mill in Aldermarston Near newbury, After match fishing for years i have knocked it on the head and gone in search of becoming a good alrounder fishing venues for specific species. I have only caught a few barble in the past as i have been mainly on the lakes canals and slow stretches of river. Can anyone offer any good advice on grabbing me a barble their?
  9. NICE CATCH mate, bet you where chuffed with that one.
  10. cheers mate i fished it yesturday and hit two perch 1st was an oz under 3 lb and the next 2 lb, i lost one tench cos i left my line clip on and it snapped (ahhhhhhhhhhhhh). but that was it. we moved three times and never really got ontop of the fish...but lovely relaxing day.
  11. Well if he was to fish a feeder and feel the line for bites that would be a good start. he would need to go with someone who knew how to set up and things. With a bit of guidence i think it would an enjoyable experience as the bites can be felt and the direction of the hooked fish would be felt. The sound of the fish on top of water would be heard. I am not blind and have no experience working with the blind but i should imagine the mixture of those things would create a good mental picture of the situation. Alot of lakes also have good disabled swims with level platforms that have low rails around them. sorry i could not help more !!!!! If you get any good advice or info from anywhere please post it on this site so people on here will be able to help others in the future.
  12. Nice catch mate, but you cant beat a perfectly formed deep green monster. I think waters are becoming more and more filed with cross specied fish. I have seen tench with coi carp colors for example, people may disagree but i think its a shame as i like the original species in original colours. what does everyone else think?
  13. I agree that the fact suggests its a record, but on the other side that, could a marina that no one ever fishes and is undisturbed explain the fish being bigger. It would seem unfair for it to be the record if other law abiding anglers would have had the chance to catch it. If its not legal and within the parameters of the rules it should be discounted i think. P.S. I had PB Perch yesturday 2 lb 15 oz whilst tench fishing, not long after followed a 2 lb perch. gutted it was just under 3lb. tried to convince myself it was at the 3 lb mark but the scales where clear and i would only be cheeting myself. lol
  14. I would just like to say thanks to everyone who has helped in my quest for the ultimate tench water. I will let ypu all know how i get on at blenhiem palce tench fishing next week. PS I have had my share of crays in the past. I think i will try the stretch down by beale park towards reading looks like some nice slow water.
  15. Hi mate, Although the bottom is the usual place, it can work to bring the bait off the bottom just moving it up a few inches each cast. I have struggled on the bottom before and lifted off and had a couple green giants. This aint always possible in venues holding lots of roach as you could be plagued with them.
