  1. Yeah good luck to you to GG.....not much wildie fishing in my neck of the woods but did enjoy it down in the Dartmoor region a couple of years back plus also my trip to the Hampshire Avon this year as a guest
  2. Yeah I can confirm the gooc old Jack Hargreaves trick for me otherwise the candle treatment.
  3. Why not try single hooks? When I went to Cape Cod a few years back fishing for Striped Bass nearly everyone was using singles and the hook up rate was pretty good, so I tried it here and the hook up rate is still good admittedly mainly from boats. It's a lot easier to get the hook out and therefore a shorter time if you want to return the fish.
  4. I've done ok with floating Rapala type lures, then you can check out those enticing gullies and hopefully miss the weed/snags.....but always take more than you think you'll need Early mornings for me.
  5. I once fished for wild carp in a place called Danskine Loch in the Borders region many years ago. Not sure if they're still there but it sure was a beautiful place to fish and the carp were true battlers for their size.
  6. Thanks for the welcome Newt
  7. Hi Greenwells Glory. I fish for anything that swims!! My current love are Bass either afloat or on terra firma using sporting tackle and I must admit I was quite taken by Trout on the dry fly earlier this year fishing the Hampshire Avon (although that was by invitation only). I live quite near the Thames so coarse fish are also an option and I'm hoping to catch a Thames Pike on the fly this year. What do you fish for?
