Hi I'm new to this forum thingie so a quick introduction............... I do my fishing on the River Mourne which is a tributary of the Foyle system in Northern Ireland. The Mourne is a big river (20m+) and although it has a good population of brown trout the main quarry are salmon, grilse and sea trout. Spring salmon are best from April to mid May with the bulk of the grilse and summer salmon arriving from June to the end of the season in October. Sea trout are at their peak in June and July. I tie a lot of salmon flies but only the Traditional Shrimp Patterns. There's roughly about 30 altogether, so I'm kept busy smile.gif I tie for friends and i also supply a few outlets, It helps to pay for the materials. I'm looking forward to some friendly chat and exchanging ideas. John smile.gif
