I have for sale a 16mtr Milo Maxximus pole, old but superb quality, 2 top kits, cupping kit all in Shakespeare SKP pole holdall. The 14.5 to 16mtr section belongs to a Milo Trojan, the only diffeence? one says Trojan, one Maxximus(they were the same pole) £250ono 50" Daiwa Wavelock brolly, as new £25 I have 2 tackle boxes with 20 pole rigs, and a considerable amount of tackle. FAR too much to list but lots of line, several tubs of weights, 20+packs of hooks, plumbs, disgorgers, baitboxes, ptfe bushes, stornfo's, hook tiers, baitboxes several bags of groundbait and pelletsetc etc. £65 the lot. 1 freestanding Daiwa pole roller 2 large rollers, 3 smaller rollers £30 the lot Finally a Shakespeare Team seat box with new style Octoplus leg kit and Breakaway backrest, also has pole support arm £45. In February 2013 I went to my usual water for a day's piking, We got there about 8.45am and I set my stuff up, got my first rod out(ledgered deadbait) about 9am. At the time I was using a 'beach buddy' as a shelter. Sat in my shelter setting my 2nd rod up I heard a 'clunk'. Sticking my head out of the shelter I noticed my bite indicator had dropped and line was disappearing off the spool. Dropped the rod I was setting up and struck. 5 minutes later(and some VERY wobbly knees)landed a superb 17lb pike. Dealt with it and finished setting up both rods. Had another 3 pike that day(8lb, 9lb and 11lb)but not until mid afternoon. Had all 3 in a crazy half hour, I think between 2pm and 2.30pm. Now the PACGB have 'stolen' the water and I cannot fish it anymore unless I join them.

To the totally ignorant when it comes to the matter of reels for freshwater angling(pole angler)what is a reel like this really(bad pun, sorry) worth?

I know this reply might sound a bit cheesy, but, have you thought about ringing Keith Arthur on Talk Sport Saturday and Sunday between 6 and 7am. He knows the Thames like the back of his hand. Sure he would give some good advice

Having had and used both of these reels(both are superb)I also prefer the Daiwa. If you could get one a SHV or SHA daiwa.

I only have a £15 phone on PAYG. I don't see the point of phones that run your life for you on stupid contracts that cost a fortune, and I certainly don't need a internet access on a phone. I'll nip to Asda/Tesco tomorrow and see what they've got. Had a try with it earlier, it wont switch on at all so its now in the bin

Fished the Lancaster Canal on Saturday 10/8. When we got there, there was a chap already fishing. "Caught anything?" I ask? "No" comes the reply, I set myself up with my pole, first 2 mins a nice roach, next put out nice skimmer, next thing I knew I heard a voice saying "Have a good day lad's" the guy had packed up and off he went. Anyway, caught steadily throughout the day and enjoyed the session. Only downside, I knocked my phone onto the lily pads by my feet and although it didn't sink it got horribly wet and stopped working. Ah well, never mind.

It would depend on what type of fishing you are doing. Are you just fishing for small silvers or are you going after the carp. I have used Browning Black Magic poles and Shimano Technium 13mtr(my personal favourite £299). Both superb poles but I've no doubt other people will tell you Maver, Tri Cast, etc etc there is such a massive selection in this price range Technium for me

There is a possibility that the warning system that should have slowed it down failed. Best waiting for the full enquiry results before speculating the cause

Personally I don't see a problem with £1 to post a letter. How much would it cost you to deliver it personally? Especially if, lets say you are in London and the letter is going to Glasgow. Maybe 50p for 'local' post

Best advice I could give you is contact all the local tackle shops in Margate, Southend, Ramsgate. Usually best advice going.

Adam, what sort of pole are you after? Does it have to be a power pole or will a 12mtr match pole do the job for now?

Living in Blackpool in the 1970's(still do buy the way) I had NEVER seen the Illuminations switched on me and a mate decided to go and watch them come on. Deciding the town centre would be packed(they were switched on in Talbot Square outside the Town Hall then we decided to go to the Harrowside area South of the Pleasure Beach. We got there somewhat early so there was a café on Harrowside bridge and we had just enough for a cup of tea, a slice of bread and butter was 6d(ask your parents kids) yet a slice of buttered toast was 3d(Yes, we were confused too) so we had 2 slices of toast which we covered in sugar. NEVER had it before then and NEVER had it since. Just very weird that I remember that night over 40 years ago(considering I cannot remember what I did 3 days ago) And we saw the Lumi's come on too

I used to read Andy 40 years ago when I was at school. He used to be in the Daily Mirror daily and was drawn by Reg Smythe. He was supposed to be from the North East. He was totally workshy, never paid the rent man (Mr Ritson), had a best mate called Chalkie, spent 3/4 of his life in the pub chasing women, playing darts, betting on the horses. His long suffering wife Flo(Florence) used to usually pick him up when he couldn't get up because he was drunk. Sounds just like about 2 million Brits today

Serves him right! One thing, he wont do it again. It's just a shame he will cost the NHS, therefore hardworking taxpayers a fortune for the rest of his life.

It is with some regret that I have decided to sell my N gauge model railway layout. It does not matter how I describe it on here I cannot do it justice as I have done the vast majority of the work on it myself and I have put so many hours into it I've lost count!!!! It is a COMPLETE layout and in all honesty does not need ANY work done or re-building. Hers we go, it is 56inches wide and 48inches deep. It has 3 working tracks one has sidings with a repair shop and has a complete town scene with roads 2 stations(with working lamps) there are 9 working loco's 7 passenger carriages, 15 goods trucks. The locos and rolling stock are worth £500 alone. The town layout consists of 3 main roads(with working streetlamps) Farm , Church(working lights)complete with wedding scene, School, Houses, 'Bass' Pub with working lights, shop, Canal with lock and keepers cottages, complete with boats, Fire station with good quality fire engine, bus depot with buses and workmen, campsite, allotments, pond with fishermen, taxi office and taxi's, pumping station, windmill, it has a scenic background and lots of trees a footbridge and lots of people and cars(some of which the lights work),There are lots of spare people, lights, wire, and track(enough to build another layout. It looks simply STUNNING when lit up at night!!!!!! This layout has cost me more than £1500 over the past 18 months and I cam email photos. Again I cannot stress how good this set is and I really would recommend, if you are interested to come and have a look at it. And now the bad bit........£1000(sorry it is worth considerably more). I am willing to ' do a deal' on fishing gear or W.H.Y. But I would need a substantial amount of cash in my direction. Come and talk to me, I don't bite, HONEST!!!!!!!!

Have you still got this pole? and would you consider swapping a clarinet with many extra's for it?

Having decided to get back into my pole fishing I'm up for swapping the clarinet for a decent pole or tackle

Hi Judy, Personally, I would not bother with any of the above as I have and would recommend highly the Fuji Finepix HS20EXR. Does everything an SLR will do plus more, X30 zoom lens wihich is equivalent to 24-720(YES 720) mm and in the EXR mode it is stunning!!!! Just type in fuji finepix hs20 into Amazon and read and mor important WATCH THE VIDEO. It has more settings than Ive had hot dinners. If you want to take a photo there will be a setting for it on the hs20 (or you can just use it in the EXR mode and it does it all for you) It's as goos as any slr camera Ive used.
