  1. Just to confirm, the picture is not of my actual car but of something mine will hopefully closely resemble. I have tried to put some more pictures up but cannot get them to upload. Kit was from these people www.aksportscars.com Engine was built by Mike Huddart, had it runnig and with the sidepipes on it sounds awesome although loud with it echoing off the garage walls.
  2. Ajay, quite right it is an AC Cobra 427, unfortunately not a real one but a replica. Steve, Jaguar running gear and gearbox, sb chevy v8 power-roughly 450bhp. I did have a budget but blew that out the window a long time ago. As for man hours, I have no idea as I hammer it sometimes, then do nothing for weeks or do a bit here and there. I have only been on it for 11 months and was hoping to have it on the road by now, I am a lazy git though.
  3. Been a while since I have been on here and fishing but been very busy building one of these. It's not finished yet, but well on the way.
  4. Tony, Although very tempting, no, I won't be coming down. I am spending everything on my car at the minute. A days fishing at Timsbury with digs would be about the £100 mark. To me, at the minute that would be a set of door locks. I hope you enjoy the wind and rain, as this is usual for Timsbury is it not! Besides I see Leon is going
  5. Sutton Scotney on the A34 is the nearest. There is a village up the road too with a pub that does decent food although not cheap.
  6. look here, look normal summer levels to me http://www.7webcams.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/
  7. Hi Tony, true, I have not been around much at all. I don't have a clue about Timsbury, the fishing has really taken a back seat in the last 12 months and I cannot see it improving too much this coming 12 months. I really wanted to make Wingham this year and had set out to attend at the start of the year, but things have changed.
  8. Steve, I have only just seen this, been so busy with other things. Unfortunately I am going to have to miss out again. I have to attend a memorial on the Saturday, but shall endeavour to make it next year. I love Wingham and am itching to get back there.

    Bait Apron

Elton, that's the favourite bit of the fish-ins for me, watching you throw the floats up the trees. Sorry I won't be there to see it this year.

    Bait Apron

Elton, Get the one with the most pockets, so you can carry more floats. Or better still just leave the apron in the car and throw the floats in the nearest tree
  11. I missed out last year due to the fact I knew I would not get in as it was so over subscrbed so I did not even put my name down. I was hoping to go this year, as I adore Wingham, even if all I catch is Pike I have a kit car arriving on the 17th April, well the chassis anyway and will be so embroiled with this, that I may have to miss it again as I want to really crack on with my new project. I will have to wait and see and hopefully a weekend fishing is what I might need come Wingham.
  12. I bought one when they first came out and paid about £7, great bit of kit.

    River Teme roach

There are some big Roach in the Teme, although they are very thin on the ground. I have heard of the odd 2lber being caught, but further up the river around Lindridge way. Good for Grayling that way too. Also holds some large Bream.
  14. Ant, that's the one, I did get a new top for it and it is working perfectly now. My list of 2lbers proves that
  15. Ant, I bought a Shakespeare rod a few year back for Grayling fishing and it is the dogs danglies. It wasn't too exspensive around £70 and it is ideal for the Grayling. Very forgiving but has power in the butt when you need it. He is more than welcome to borry this and give it a try if he likes.
  16. After you have seen what interest you get it may be worth phoning the fishery to see if you can reserve any pegs or a section of river. I organise a fish-in on the Itchen and all seems to go pretty smoothly, I have been doing a few years now though. Believe you me, when they know you have 20+ people turning up for at least 2 days or so, it's amazing what they will do for you.
  17. I have been up that way a few times recently in the last few weeks (not to fish) and the Trent does look rather appealing. I passed a farm that was offering fishing on the river on a day ticket. You could park by the river there and it looked liked they had quite a decent length of river. I did think of popping in for a look, but have yet to do so. I would be up for this, not fished the Trent, so go ahead and sort something for next year. Hopefully you will have a better turnout than I did when I organised one on the Avon.
  18. Sounds good, you would have to talk to the fishery and reserve some pegs or a section of the river. I did one of these on a river a few year back and have not done one since due to the low turnout. Good luck to you though.
  19. Horses for courses, I have used both and still do, but I mainly use a free running lead. You would be amazed at how far a fish can move with the bait before any indication is made on the rod tip. I have seen them move up to 10 feet before the tip has moved.
  20. Maggots can be deadly on their day, especially on waters that have quite a few matches on them. An under used bait and a pretty good one for winter fishing. I still use pellet and boilies most the time though as i would rather wait for the bigger fish and boilies and pellets deter the smaller fish. I flavour my own meat and mainly use this on coloured flooded water. Worms are good also at the start of the season and on flooded water. I don't bother with sweetcorn at all but hemp well worth a try, bit fiddly getting a few grains on the hook or hair but can easily be done. One of my favourite baits though is paste, making my own it is guaranteed to be unique.
  21. Still here, not been about at all really and don't think I will be going the Test this year. Other things happening, working on the house, getting my garage sorted to accept a kit car, reconditioning suspension and brake parts for my kit car. All this on top of working. Been a very busy chap and things won't be getting any quieter for a while. I have even let the fishing slip, to the extent that I have hardly been at all. I may try and get to the Test, just depends what will be happening nearer the time.
  22. I started out a lot later than intended this morning after staying up to watch the golf. Due to this, I thought I would fish a little closer to home than first planned. Upon reaching the car park I could not believe it, at least 40 cars. Moved to another car park and same thing about 25 cars in this. Walked to the river without tackle and glad I did, as there were no free swims to be had. I the drove to another 2 stretches and eventually tried a different river but everywhere was packed. I eventually gave up and came home, will wait until wednesday when it is forecast rain, should keep one or two indoors. On the plus side, everybody seemed to be struggling, so looks like I have not missed too much.
  23. Well, I am looking forward to it as I have not cast a line since March. I have tomorrow off and will be making an early start Monday morning. Not going for midnight, as I won't be struggling for a swim where I am going. I will have the morning on the Teme and then will probably pop over to the Avon for the evening if I am struggling on the Teme.
  24. Do you want me to pop along Elton? I am sure I can put you onto some fish. I have only fished there twice in the last 2 years, but use to fish it quite often. Pellet, boilies, luncheon meat is what you need. Don't bother with maggots the small stuff will pester the hell out of you. Some fishmeal based ground bait wouldn't go a miss either. Just get in touch
