  1. I have booked for Timsbury the day after too, what a weekend's fishing that is. Just hope the weather is kinder to us that the last visit to theTest. I won't be forgetting my waterproof's this time either.
  2. I use the korum ones that are retractable, very sharp and safe to drop in your pocket.
  3. I reckon you would miss if your casting is anything to go by
  4. If it is anything like last year Elton you will be spending your time on the pools. I think I may pop over and see you one day, if you are there for a day or two. I used to fish there reguarly some years ago and have had plenty of Barbel out.
  5. Sounds like a cracking day Chris and well done. What is your pb Chub btw? I should fish for them more in the winter but I don't seem to get away from the Grayling in the winter these days. My best is 6.09 and I have had a 6.02 this year, while Barbel fishing on the Teme towards the end of the summer. I would love to have that in the winter.
  6. Now full. Anybody else wishing to go will have to go on the resreve list. Could everybody who has not sent payment please do so asap.
  7. Brian, I live in Coventry and don't possess the book you mention-not very good. It only has Napton Res on it that is worth fishing and then you can still pay for a day ticket on the bank. You would be much better going for the Leamington book or even the Birmingham book, better still both. They would more than cover you, plenty of water to have a go at with them two. Leamington have some good pools aswell as some of the Leam and Avon. Birmingham have loads of the Severn, Avon, Teme with some decent pools too.
  8. I am awaiting delivery of the above LCD television, next wednesday-can't wait. Got a good deal on it too. My problem is, I have no idea as to what dvd recorder or home cinema kit to buy. I have seen absoulutely loads but still none the wiser. I don't want to spend silly money, but don't want to scrimp-if you know what I mean. Can anybody help?
  9. Yes, I did. I have a pretty good idea too where it came from. Nice fish though from there.
  10. So far everybody who has requested a place has one, please send payment asap. Only a couple of spaces now left
  11. You never know but Roach over 2lb have been caught there.
  12. Chris, price is right. She always lets us have it a little cheaper.
  13. Edited post to include the day, it is a Saturday Can a mod please pin this? Thanks
  14. I have booked the fishery for our sole use on the above date, which is a Saturday. Deposit sent and cost is £19 a head payable in advance to me. You can let me know about going either on this thread or p.m me. PLEASE PUT YOUR USER I.D ON CHEQUES SO I KNOW WHO THEY ARE FROM. Fishing is from 9am, same as last year. Regarding where we can fish, the Trout section is clearly marked and cannot be fished. I have had a lot of interest in this already, as I mentioned it on a previous thread. It is on a first come first served basis and payment confirms your place. The fishery has extended the season for normal ticket holders, so have had to do it a bit later so we can have the fishery to ourselves. This is a fantastic and well run fishery, as I am sure many will agree. The potential of a 3lb Grayling is a real possibilty. Also contains some big Chub, Barbel, Roach and obviously Trout. Cars can be driven along the river so no need for long walks, as long as the track is drivable. Most meet at Asda for breakfast in Eastleigh at about 7.30 otherwise at the fishery for about 8.30. Adsa is only about 10-15 mins away from the fishery. Payment to be sent to PAUL SEPHTON
  15. I must also appolgise for shooting off early, but as you know I forgot my waterproofs and was absolutely soaking after an or so fishing in the rain but stuck it out for as long as bearable. I was so cold and wet by 1 o'clock I had to get off to get warmed up and dried off. One lesson learn't though, always double check you have everything. I would rather have forgotten my rod than the waterproofs as there would have always been somebody there to lend you a rod for the day.
  16. Elton, You didn't fish there yesterday by any chance did you? The fast carrier was full of floats in the trees Just got home and oh boy, am I glad to be home! It rained all day no stop, and I had forget my waterproofs, what a fool. Managed a few fish though, so not a complete disaster. A big thank you to Tony for organising things, and it was nice to see some old faces as well as some new ones. I will be posting details of The Itchen fish-in shortly, so keep your eyes peeled.
  17. A bit of rain never hurt anybody, just think of them Grayling and the possibility of a huge Roach too. I remember the forecast was changing from one day to the next last year, but it turned out okay on the day, maybe a little cold. The good thing about the cold you don't feel it when you are roving from one swim to another catching loads of fish. Looking forward to it with great optimism myself, love the Test almost as much as the Itchen. I caught my first Grayling on the Test, all 1oz of it, a truly special fish to me. You see I don't have to catch double figure Barbel all the time to make myself happy
  18. Go for the Enegizer one either 3 or 6 led's, also has the red light on it. A great piece of kit and only around £8, I have the 3 led one and would not be without it. http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/part...t;ENERGIZER.htm
  19. I too have never really flavoured hemp but have on the odd occassion used chilli. Just add flaked chilli to it when you are boiling it. Welcome to AN btw.
  20. Take a look here, this will explain it. http://www.anglerstimes.co.uk/tipsmakeawaggler.htm
  21. I too totally agree that Grayling can be caught in very shallow water. Last year on the Itchen I had a 2lber in 6 inches of water, on further inspection there was an undercut bank that they were holed up in and just popping out for the odd morsel that came past. I have changed from using stick floats to Avons, chubbers and loafers as they give you more control in the faster water that the Grayling usually tend to favour. I have however be given some Grayling floats that I intend to try this coming winter.
  22. Problems, problems. I had a 307 sw that was great for taking plenty of gear, only to trade it for a 207gti september just gone. I am very worried now about what I will be able to take fishing, especially for the longer sessions. I have always tended to travel light when possible so the short sessions wont be a problem, at least I will get there quickly
  23. Good choice Chris, a real nice bit of kit.
  24. Matt, the travelodge website is the site you need and look for Sutton Scotney.
