  1. Tigger, I bought mine from Trefor West. If you send them an Email asking for a catalogue Trefor or his Wife will send you one as a PDF file. Email: whackedit@west2244.freeserve.co.uk Tel: 024 7645 4181 I don't know whether they are still trading but I'm lead to believe the gear was made by Cotswold Aquarius though. Hope you're lucky as they are a very useful bit of kit. Rog
  2. I live inbetween the Dorset Stour and Hamphire Avon. Both have a reputation that they constantly live up to, and I enjoy every minute I spend on each, regardless of catch. However I still harp back to my youth, flyfishing for sewin (seatrout) on the river Towy. Standing in the water, night as black as pitch, trying to ignore the noises of the night. And when one takes...........just magic. Rog
  3. I normally use the John Wilson Bait pouch which has two seperate pockets. These are quite deep which means you can easily hold two pints of maggots as well as a fair amount of tackle, hooks, shot etc. It is designed for round the waist though and not to good for wading. For wading I use the Double T bait pouch which includes a removalable bag for cleaning and is worn around the neck. Again two pockets which enables a modicum of tackle to be carried. Rog
  4. Tony & Sue, Many thanks for organising an excellent event. Apologies for not staying for the bacon rolls but unfortunately I didn't leave my mobile at home and work managed to get hold of me and call me in, just what I wanted after a day's fishing! Great to meet you all, it's nice seeing so many trotting a float. The fishing was also good with the trout strong enough to make your arm ache, and as always the grayling one of the best looking fish around. Shame one of the big roach didn't show. Here's to the next one, I'm definately hooked. All the best, Rog PS Mike T - if you fancy a bash on the Avon give us a shout.
  5. I'll second that. Recently bought a pair of muckboots Speys, very comfortable, very warm and no problem with walking a fair distance. Best boot I've had to date but tad expensive at £70. Rog
  6. Getting closer and colder. What time does it start and do we meet up before entering the fishery? Rog
  7. Hi Mike, I've been meaning to give the Bickerley Stream a go but each time I find an excuse to go onto the main river. I'm assuming from your post the section you were fishing was downstream of the car parking area, do you have any knowledge of how accessible the upstream sections are, and whether they produce? Rog
  8. Thanks for a very descriptive report, after my virtual blank this weekend on a rather full and coloured Stour your account got the juices flowing for Sunday. See you there, Rog
  9. What a great thread. Just worked up the juices again to wet a line, especially after standing on the bank of the Stour this morning, well as near to the bank as I could get, and watch a tidal wave of chocolate rush through. Hopefully it should have dropped enough by Saturday. My perfect conditions are when the wife's busy for the weekend and I get to go fishing twice. Unfortunately that's as rare as the magic weather above. Still let's hope the following Sunday is good for Timsbury. Rog
  10. Thanks for the directions guys. Your thread also starts to build the anticipation, do I trot, fluff chuck or hide under a brolly. I've a new pin to try out so I think it'll be the trot. Rog
  11. Hi, could someone give me the address for Timsbury, there appears to be two different fisheries on the net. Cheers. Rog
  12. Hi Tony, I've tried to find the Timsbury Fishery on the net but have come acoss a few. Could you confirm the address. Thanks. Rog
  13. To get the maximum usage I bought the Drennan 13' 15' combo. It has two different mid sections which means the longer version is a rod in itself and not just an added 2' extension. I therefore have a good match and trotting rod. Not too expensive either at £135. Rog
  14. Hi all, Can you both fly and trot at this venue, and are waders allowed. Rog
  15. Thanks Tony, cheque in the post. Look forward to meeting you all. Rog
