  3. FishOMania wound its way down south for the fifteenth round at the prestigious Makins Fishery. With some recent big weights in opens and overcast ‘fishy’ weather there were some decent weights expected from the right pegs, which were thought to be on lake 3 or 4. View the full article

  5. Lindholme Lakes hosted the thirteenth round of FishOMania 2020 and with 100 anglers spread across the complex, there was plenty of space for anglers to catch a few fish. On the online draw, anglers were favouring Bennys lake and many tipped Lee Thornton and Nick Speed on Bennys 22 and 23 respectively. View the full article
  6. Weston Pools hosted the fourteenth round of FishOMania qualification in conditions fitting of the picturesque lakes, glorious sunshine and just a slight ripple on the water. This put a lot of the fish across the lakes up in the water and many caught on natural baits shallow. View the full article
  7. The River Weaver hosted the third round of RiverFest qualification and with the river holding good summertime flow, a few bigger weights were expected. Lee Kerry certainly didn’t disappoint from peg 2 on White Hulses Island and put together an impressive 46lb 15oz and 12drams of river bream, which he took on groundbait feeder at 30m on worm hookbaits.   9. Moorlands Farm hosted it’s second Fish’O’Mania qualifier on Saturday and again the weather didn’t play ball with changeable conditions and high winds. On the online draw many fancied Glyn Clark on Meadow and Des Shipp on Silver pool, however, it was the unfavoured Bank pool that threw up both the winner and second place. View the full article

  12. Tunnel Barn Farm has been on a stupendous run of form of late and the tenth round of Fish’O’Mania was no exception yesterday with ten 200lb weights and almost half the field having over 100lb! Conditions were also spot on with mild overcast conditions that saw the lakes resident F1s feed in the shallow water. View the full article

Following a campaign by the Angling Trust and the Professional Boatman’s Association (PBA), which attracted support from diving groups including the British Sub Aqua Club (BSAC), the government have decided to withdraw guidance issued on June 11th which specifically prohibited skippered charter boats in England from operating under the COVID-19 regulations.   16. The rearranged Fish’O’Mania qualifier at Moorlands Farm saw ninety-five of the country’s best commercial anglers vying for the chance to pick up the esteemed Fish’O’Mania title. Saturday’s weather was very up and down, with high winds and showery spells and it made for some tricky angling conditions, with some of the best weights coming from anglers who could catch close in.   18. A sun dripped Heronbrook Fisheries saw another 110-peg sell-out of Fish’O’Mania 2020. With all pools in a lot of anglers fancied a draw on either Meadow or Island lake as they’d been showing some big weights in the recent opens, but who would walk away with the spot in the 50k Final.   19. The Angling Trust has published its formal response to the government’s Benyon Review on the establishment of Highly Protected Marine Areas (HPMAs) which had controversially proposed a blanket ban on recreational sea angling in these new zones. View the full article

  21. The first RiverFest qualifier of the season on the River Calder saw the level a few inches above summer normal and carrying a little colour. Phill Davies made very good use of a fast water swim in B Zone using a combination of Avon, stick float and bomb tactics to land chub up to 4lb in a 33-12-0 winning catch. View the full article
  22. Lake View Fishery hosted the seventh round of Fish’O’Mania qualification this weekend and with mid-week weights soaring over 150lb, most expected a few bites at the draw. Conditions on the morning looked to be spot on, but with extra rain water the lakes resident carp and F1s remained moody. View the full article

Fish’O’Mania Qualifier six made its way back to the fantastic Partridge Lakes Fishery, where 99 anglers battled it out in some horrendous conditions for their place in the Grand Final in August.
