  1. The bottom line is walk away and call the Police.
  2. Oh well then try fishing in a stock pool, or take him to a small river, teach him natural History first so he gets to know about the flies he will use and start him off on a foundation course. Dont rush him and let him take his time to become an angler
  3. Any Carp Puddle will do, If you have a great deal of patience then try the local River so he has a proper apprenticeship. But if you want to catch fish straight away then go to a Carp Puddle
  4. Get a gang up wear a balaclava and sort it. Go to the press and local MP it does work wonders. I live in the countryside not a council house anywhere bliss.
  5. Caster laid on and or Breadflake and mashed bread. a nice 18 fine wire barbless to bury the hook in a floater will usually score.
  6. I hope they catch the Polluters http://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/local_news...p_River_Crouch/
  7. Buy ready boiled hemp and nick the hook in the white kernal. use the Hemp sparingly as feed and use olivettes as the fish will attack shot on the line causing false bites
  8. Surely us anglers pay for bankside Policing by purchasing the rod licence. I think we need through the freedom of information act to request just what the EA actually do to patrol the fisheries and rivers and prosecute anglers. Like the Police we never ever see them being proactive. Without the regular patrols there will never be a result to this business
  9. Boilie boys Andy Maker and Kev Reynolds used 30kg of boilies to land 1,204 carp recently. Is 30 kg too much for a 48 hour session? Are Carp anglers rightly blamed for over feeding fish or are they just scapegoats?
  10. By the way Benacre whose the "Ann Freeman" you refer to in your title? Ann Freeman is the day ticket fishery owner featured in AT who has decided to close her day ticket fishery and rent it to a club.
  11. Kent Carp anglers with no licence???
  12. Well since my local Tench water changed from club water to Day ticket the water has actually improved. why? The day ticket owners employ bailiffs who patrol at regular intervals. Litter bugs are immediately told to pack up and leave (with a ban) IMHO some day ticket owners like another down my road just want the money and sod the fish care, litter or troublesome anglers. It is, it seems a double edged sword.
  13. I dont use a keepnet, my mixed bag was a figure of speech
  14. If you owned a day ticket fishery and it was being ruined by day ticket anglers, would you ban them and rent to a club? I have witnessed some poor anglers on my local fishery but I would not tar them all with the same brush. Some day ticket anglers cannot afford to join a club. Close call but if I was an owner I would just ban the litter bugs and bad anglers.
  15. Yes the EA own the rights to any water. I bet if your private lake was in trouble you would ring the EA. Well that's why you need a licence.
  16. Mixed bag of Roach and Prech on float fished Lobs and Bread flake. Bloody Crayfish at it again the river is flowing very slow and the baits are just not lifted off the bottom on the high tide atm. One angler nearby kept shouting he had some big fish but when I asked to see then in his keep net he made excuses. Still another day tommorrow back on the River.
  17. Kamasan Animal all the time very good barbless hooks . Fish baits that attract bigger fish too.
  18. I love fishing and even when you dont catch it is nice to be out. I agree it is nice to talk to the public too. The weed is reported all along the coast even reaching as far as us in Suffolk. You cant blank sitting at home either. May be interested in the open match. Benacre.
  19. Looking to replace an old fixed spool reel with a new one would like a reel with shallow spools for light lines and one deep spool. It will be a general reel for trotting feeder and specimen fishing. It is a minefield re reel choice but one is hoping to cut corners by asking you guys. budget £100. Thanks
  20. Always a close call, I would have dialled 999 straight away. It;s not racist mentioning them (EE's) but they are very problematic. Thankfully they EE's are eating the Muscovy Ducks. remember to have your say on the EA site about taking fish from Freshwater venues
  21. I agree that Bream can be caught at night but mainly this is due to boat traffic on my river. My catch of Bream yesterday were in broad daylight in 8' of water, It was rather clear but I still caught. In my local lake they feed all day but there can be bubbles in my swim but they are so finiky often just sucking in the bait and sitting there. Hence my float set up has to be very sensitive.
  22. Hair rigged plastic sweetcorn caught me two Bream and a Mirror Carp on my local River on Saturday. I use hair rigs for 90% of my fishing now.
  23. Is she now! No I weighed it, photographed it and did not even put it in the keepnet. Best Wishes
  24. 2lb or so a nice suprise when Bream fishing http://s566.photobucket.com/albums/ss107/e...rent=mirr-1.jpg
  25. Just ordered some lures. will trial them on my river and let you all know http://hawklures.com/
