  1. Many Happy Returns and tight lines from a novice who relies on this website for a good day out
  2. Thanks Guys The link you gave John is exactly what I was looking for and will serve me well. I also appreciate the tips you gave. I'm keeping a small notebook with these in for future reference. Once again chaps, thanks a million Wormdrowner
  3. Hi Newt My first query is about split shot. Is there a table that gives the weight in grammes for each size. For example when setting up a 3 BB waggler if I put 2 x BB to secure the float how many No 6 shot will it take to finish the job? I've been doing it by guesswork so far but it would reduce my set up time if I had a better idea. Also how accurate are the float sizing? are they just a guide? Cheers The wormdrowner
  4. Hi Guys. I'm looking for some really technical info here. Is there a table anywhere that tells me the weights of split shot and how accurate are they (and floats) manufactured. I've only been out a few times with my son and Grandson who are also novice anglers (all licenced) but when I'm setting up the tackle it is very much a guessing game. Example: a 3BB waggler on my local pond. I used 2 x BB to secure the float then 4 x No4 in shirt button fashion to the hook and yet the float was still high in the water. I bought 2 starter books one of which is an encyclopedia but no table. Short of contacting the likes of Drennan, Any advice on this please
  5. Hi everyone, After taking my Grandson and Son out a few times I thought it was time to get my own licence and tackle. They are both special needs and take a lot of looking after but once they are set up up it is great to see the looks on their faces when the fish are landed. Trouble is it has been the blind leading the blind and the beginners luck is wearing off and its time to gain some skill. Hoping you experienced guys can help so I'll be posting loads of questions soon. Tight lines from the Wormdrowner
