  1. Personally I would have to agree in part with the fact that fish can feel a certain amount of pain as, if like me and you've done a spot of canal work then them little persh will swallow anything that will fit in their mouths. Occasionally they get well deep hooked and the fish does seem to have an aversion to the hook being removed, they curl up and it has to said it looks painfull. On the other hand last week in Fan Lodge at Bikershaw I had a tench to about 5lb that had to be kept on the bank for getting on for ten minutes as I removed seven, yes seven hooks from it's mouth not counting my own varying from 22's to 10's. During this period the fish just stared at me and didn't stir at all during the operation. Some of the hooks were rusty so had been there while and I have to say it appeared to feel nothing:D:D:D
  2. I thought lambing was late 'cos we couldn't run as fast as you. Truman now there's a fast yorkie for you. Don't know where you get it from. C

  4. Me, I'm a bread man. Worm has it's appeal but, for some reason it's not a bait I use a lot of. Even on the method I've had more luck in one of the local puddles with bread. Simple method mix with a bit of hemp in it and a nice juicy breadflake on the hook. My fav' punch is the drennan flake punch, it's never let me down yet. C

  6. That sounds like it could be just west of Latchford locks. There is a large steel railway bridge that crosses the canal there, it's quite a way up in the air mind so, if it is that bridge your mate would have to have good eyesight. If your looking for underrated waters you may want to look at Pennington flash, it has bream over 10lb not seen very often as it's a damned big puddle. One was taken about two years ago reputed to be 15lb 10oz. Carp also reside in there and they be beasts, the trouble is no one seems able to pin them down to a specific area of the flash. The brook leading away from the flash is in the press regular for it's roach, possibly the best roach fishing in the country in winter. You can take fish over two pound every chuck when they're up for it and just below them are pike to 30lb. Not a bad water at all for a tenner a year. C

  8. This is my own personal view. But I reckon Browing's after sales is terrible, I have been waiting now four months for a top three after waiting a month and a half for the pole in the first place. and I'm still waiting for a replacement No7 section after it frayed and caused a large number of splinters, not bad on it's first outing. I can guess it's not this sites policy to grieve other companies but, I'm getting a bit miffed, so, Browning if your reading HURRY UP! I'm sure it's not only me having this problem. Or is it? C

    Bargain Pole

When I used to use a whip I used 10's laccy tied to the end with a stonfo on it. Not a massive amount just about 4 or 5". Helps to take the strain off the pole. C

  12. Man this place is hard to get onto. I've just had to re-do all my security settings. But it's worth it. Cheers Elton, Couldn't have done it without you. Strange though I'm on alot of BBS' and never had this trouble before, or, is it just me? C
