  1. ive just done that but thanks anyway, have you fished there and whats it like if you have.
  2. i have recently been looking at the angel of the north fishries website and i would like to know if there has been a misstake on there website as it say's in bassett's pond which is only 1/3 of an acre there are carp between 12oz and 15 ilb's however in there bigger lake which is used in matches 'lookout lake' only has carp between 12oz and 2 ilb's can anyoneshed some light on the problem also i have heard that red maggots are now allowed is this correct.
  3. Sweet meat- luncheon meat diced then add icing sugar until meet turns sticky and finally sprinkle with a ground bait red is best. I have only been carp fishing 3 time and on my third time using this bait i caught 4 carp. Mixed maggots never Fail Sweetcorn is ok not brilliant
  4. Yes Definetly send an email, where i fish in finchale abbey there is an old man seems to never believe that you have you licience and i spoke with the person in charge and the old man has never bothered me since so whats to lose

  6. I have only been coarse(carp) fishing 3 times but i have caught 15 fish so i must be doing something right. Anyway back to the topic, im quite experimental and i have tried 3 different baits on my first time i used sweetcorn and only caught 3 then the second time i used mixed maggots and caught 8 one was a 13 pound carp then the third time i used sweet meat and for those who dont know what that its luncheon meat, icing sugar and red ground bait and i caught 4 using this concoction. if anybody wants the step by step on how to make the sweet meat just reply to this post
  7. I have been fishing 3 time each to the same lake and i was wondering does anybody know any other good places in tyne and wear however i would rather be in the wear part as thats where i live.
  8. On wednesday i went fishing for the third time and caught a total of eight fish 2 great roach, 5 carp and withmy last cast of the day a beautiful Perch. So basically i was wondering if you have had any good day's recently and what is is a good size carp in inches and wieght.
  9. I need a reel, for coarse fishing but mainly carp will bewhat i catch, it needs to be between £20 and £30 and i am a beginner so it needs to be simple but effective also a reel with drag would be better please help =]

  12. Thanks alot 'Worms' that will be very helpful its much appriciated, what maggot would you suguest because ive been reading about and apperently red maggots are good and also spam and sweetcorn would you agree and what is your favourate thanks for the advice =]

Right i'm going coarse fishing tommorow for the first time and because i have never been before i dont know what bait to use any other tips aswell. the place im going is mainly carp however my friend caught a tench yesterday. I have all equipment required including licience. Any handy tip will be most grateful!
  14. i havegot my rigs already my uncle is pro at making rigs so i have lots, i see your point i cant go just looking for carp, whats the best way to catch tench cause its looks a nice fish to catch
