  1. Does anyone know if the bream is a known fish? I think Steve keeps records of them doesn't he ? It would be interesting to know if it's been caught before...how long ago...weight etc.
  2. Or these 110520776719 on ebay, they put any drenna rod to shame and the persons got two sets of two for sale. Even at 2 1/2 test they're great for playing fish as well as casting, one of the best rods ever made IMO
  3. Elton, get shut of it and get yourself a force 8 two man...no messing about with over wraps and all that none sense and much quicker to put up. I do have a friend who loves his Trakker big z and he's had it for a few years now.... but he's a plonker
  4. I've got one in the two man version and I really like it. I used to have a Trakker big Z (pram hood style) which I didn't like at all. I think you can buy four TFG force 8 two mans for the price of the big z one man n'all. I have the force 8 bed also which is great. I'd get the two man if you want a bit of space.
  5. Don't know anything about the pond but how did your op go ? Hope it went well.
  6. A credit to you so far Rusty...well done Mr.
  7. I wasn't keen on the bent quill type floats but they look very nice bent or not. I've got a couple of full sets of swan flight feathers here if you want em Brian, I plucked em off a dead one with it's head chewed off then realised when I got home maybe it had died of bird flu and had it's head munched after it had popped it's cloggs so I've not touched them since.
  8. I don't think I need worry about that Jeff, i think i've got anti OCD
  9. Or dead bait with a jack !
  10. Looks like you've been doin plenty Pithin about Brian Being serious now...they look great m8...which are mine
  11. Lookin good Rusty, can't wait to see it finnished !
  12. Weathers still a bit on the cold side yet for serious flashing Maybe it'll be ok for next month
  13. As Sportsman has pointed out if you ask permission it may just be given ...but personally I don't think you should have to go cap in hand asking to do a bit of fishing on a public stretch of the river. It'll be interesting to see how you go on, good luck !
  14. I had a little practice the other day on the field at the back of our house then the farmer coated it in slurry so I'll most likely actually have a stab on some water next time lol.
  15. What...they play music to you while you fish Being serious, do you mean hasstle ? Lets face it it's not the crime of the century now is it and the police wouldn't give a toss one way or the other. It is annoying though but that's councils for you (you won't win with em) that's why I said just go fishing and ignore it, I bet no one would say anything anyhow.
  16. Just go and fish...when the river season starts that is. The worst that can happen is someone will ask you to leave and if you are like me then they..... will leave you alone
  17. Isn't it just budgie, if you get bored with it it can always go on ebay giving back your hard earned coin so you can buy some other bits that catch your eye .
  18. Maybe there's someone living near to you or going past you that you could jump in with a share the cost of juice ? I like the trophy !

    Which chair

I have several chairs but most are pretty heavy. I got a shakespear fording chair (about £16)with a back rest a while back, it's very small lightweight and has a shoulder strap, none adjustable legs so not the usual type people go for. I really like it and it's now my favourite chair (brilliant for roving etc).
  20. I think there's four in there that I've not tried out just yet John...but come this summer/river season I'll get to use those also. To be honest even if I didn't use one it wouldn't bother me as I just like to have them. At the end of the day I think they look nice so in a way it's similar to haveing ornaments but I always have the option to take them out and use them if I wish to I put them in the cabinet which was only very cheap as I thought it would be a nice feature. I might get a couple of pic's etc to hang around them and have an anglers corner
  21. I bought a display cabinet the other day just for my centrepins....they've even got pride of place now in my living room just so that I can see them all the time without trailing upsatirs to get them out of their boxes. Here is a photo ( a few are out of sight on the right hand side ) Love to see other peoples angling related collections
  22. In my case i'd go for the reel and maybe later after saving again try for the rod I desired.
  23. I think tescos and Asda sell them and usually their cheaper than most other shops. If the 9v batteries are going cheap....let me know
  24. As Dales has said your barbel rods are sound for what you want so long as your not chucking large weights long ranges. I'd stick with the tackle you have and have a go first.
