It's parallel mate, & around 4" of the base of the tip is also parallel & pushes into the butt.

I mightaswell add that i lost it over the side of 1 of the Cullercoats piers so if anybody finds it or even reels it in i would appreciate it if you let me know. I will give a small reward.

Loved my Century Ezee, it has been my best rod for all round fishing until last night when a quick mishap ended with the butt section rolling into the sea over the side of the small pier. The tide was going out so at low tide i went on the hunt for it with no luck. i am totally gutted to say the least. Anyway, i am now stuck with the top section of the rod wondering what to do, checking ebay to see if theres a butt section there with no luck. I contacted Century who no longer have the machinery to do the butt section so i am basically hammered. I did have a thought about using aluminium tube & putting shrink over it but i am unsure if this will work & if it did the big problem would be getting the correct size as there is nowhere local that i am aware of where i can just take the tip section along & get the correct size aluminium tube. Maybe there is a better option what somebody can suggest? This was my favourite rod & 1 side of my brain was saying jump in after it but the other was saying get real, so i got real. Is there anything i can do to salvage this rod? Thanks lads (and lasses if there are any)
  6. Finally got the answer i needed. I called Terry at Zziplex & gave him a full description of the rod including full dimensions & they were spot on. I asked about the flexability & he says they were very flexible. It turns out that i have an origional Dream Machine which is around 23yrs old & was the 1st pendulum casting rod with casts made over 250yds. He is even going to send me some stickers out for it which is very kind of him to say the least. Now that i know i bought a genuine dream machine i am a very happy man, just need to practice my pendulum casting. Thanks for the help lads.
  7. It has no reel mount fixing, only jubilee clip type of fixings. Looking at the rings looks like it is set for a multiplier. I think the only way i am really going to find out is if somebody else has 1.
  8. Yeah it is 2nd hand & the bloke i bought it off "says" its a zziplex dream machine which was the reason i bought it. Anyway, the butt section is just under 4ft & the top section just over 8ft. The butt is alluminium with red shrink. The top section is VERY springy & cannot handle a 6oz lead. A 4oz is OK but maybe it is made for a fixed spool or would this make no difference.
  9. Hello all, I was just wondering what size the zziplex dream machines were. I know they were remade but has anybody any idea the sizes of the butt/tip of the origional ones?. Would be great help if somebody has one of them & could also tell me if they are really flexible, like have a quite a bit spring in them as i purchased what was supposed to be one & i am unsure if it really is what it's meant to be. It has no stickers but i guess it may have been built from a blank. Help is much appreciated. Thanks
