  1. Hi all, i seem to be having problems with my marker float. The problem i have is somtimes the float wont rise up through the water. I'm using the KORDA MARKER FLOAT system with a braided main line. Has anyone got any ideas why i'm having this problem ?
  2. Hi all, basically i'm trying to save abit of money on my bait by making my own. Ive never done this before and would like some oppinions on the matter. I'm looking at this base mix, https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/#Mainline-Active...x-1kg/sp/548326 How much money are you saving if you were to make them ready made ? Here they are ready made, https://www.tackleuk.co.uk/#Mainline-Frozen...ies-1kg/sp/5179 I know they both weigh 1kg but obviously the ready made boilies have other ingredients in them to make up the weight where as the base mix is just 1kg of powder. Thanks Dave
  3. Hi, after a great day's fishing yesturday i'm left with a problem. Everytime a got a run on my rod the fish would pull my rod forward. I made sure my baitrunner wasn't under too much tension but it still pulled the rod along the pod. Can you buy rod rest that screws into the rod pod that will grip the rod and stop it from sliding forward ? Thanks Dave.
  4. I changed my mind at the last minute and went to Holt Fleet fishery, i had a briliant day and caught 6 carp with the biggest being a personal best 17lb 3oz I did go and have a walk round Skilts on Friday, it looks quite a nice little pool but the one problem i could see was the car park is a fair walk from the pool. I'm told you can get a day ticket from The Corn Stores in Crabbs Cross so i think i will have a day their soon.
  5. I will be fishing this pool on sunday. Does anyone have any idea what's in the pool ? Also what bait works best, tactics etc ?
  6. Thanks lad's, that's a very interesting link and will definitely enhance my fishing.
  7. Hi all, had my first day's carp fishing yesturday. I fished a place called MORTON SPRINGS FISHERY near studley in Worcestershire. Not a pool with massive carp in but not many people fish it so i thought i would give it ago and not look a complete numpty to other people. I set up with 12lb main line and 10lb fluorocarbon hook length, size 10 barbless wide gape hook, inline 2 oz lead and a flying backlead. Bait was a mixture of different size pellets, crushed boilies and a fish meal ground bait. I was using either a pellet or boilie hair rigged to the hook and was putting a pva stick on the hook with every cast. I also used a micro spod just to get some bait in the area i was fishing. It wasn't the best day but i did have 3 carp with the biggest of them just over 11lb There are a few things that i'm confussed about. I have read people say that you should feel the lead hit the bottom. Is there a technique to this because i never felt it hit the bottom. Also is there away of knowing what your fishing on ? (Wead, clay, gravel etc) All in all i really enjoyed my first day and now can't wait for the weekend
  8. Are there any advantages of using these tactics ?
  9. Been for a walk round Earlswood lakes today and was talking to a few anglers about the rigs they were using. One of them was using a braided look length which has a much higher breaking strain than the main line. I'm now really confussed, why would you use these tactics ? Really don't understand that. Thanks, Dave
  10. Ok bud, i'm going to buy some braid tomorrow but i don't know what strength to buy. I'm going to be using 12lb Adenaline so what strength braid do you recommend ? This Carp fishing game is becoming alot more technical then first thought Thanks Dave
  11. Yeah, is that no good ? I'm using the same line as my main line. 12lb Korda Adrenaline Thanks Dave
  12. Hi and thanks again for such a detailed response. Ive basically tied the full knotless knot rig but the problem i have is when i tie the Boilie loop the line sort of kinks at the knot of the loop. Kind of hard to explain but the knot doesn't sit straight. Just tried a boilie on the loop and the weight of the boilie straightens the loop. Don't think it's anything to worry about. Im using 12lb mono by the way Thanks Dave.
  13. Hi all, i'm really struggling with the actual hair. The problem i have, is when i tie the loop of the hair it kinks. Is there another knot i could use to tie the loop to make presentation better ? Thanks Dave
  14. Yeah if you could that would be great ! I do tend to get bored of the same lake over and over again, i would like to switch it up from week to week. Thanks Dave
