  1. There's not much in this life that's free these days they could probably print it on the back of the licence
  2. Is there a list anywhere online of free stretches of water?
  3. I never said there was a fox vs human problem? In my work it's the fox vs chickens/lambs and pheasants
  4. I think fox problems in towns and cities have no baring whatsoever on hunting matters as someone who works in hunting I can state that the town fox is quite a different animal to his rural cousin you could remove both from their enviroment and exchange their homes like in a "wifeswap" scenario and both probably wouldn't last a week in the others shoes.
  5. The fox is an incredible animal even when you think you've got the place totaly secure they'll find a kink in your armour. This time of year there are 1/2 and 3/4 grown cubs around and they can squeeze into the tiniest of places. I had a call out once to a place where they were losing chickens and thought they had a fox problem in a very secure compound when I caught the culprit it was a Hob Ferret
  6. If you were closer I'd help you out mate
  7. Lets hope so it would make my job a lot easier
  8. I've suspected for some time now that my wife has been having an affair. The usual signs, you know. Phone rings, I answer, someone hangs up immediately. She started going out with "the girls" a lot recently, although everytime I ask her which girls it is, it is always the same answer along the lines of ". . . oh just some friends from work honey, you don't know them". I always look out for her taxi coming home late at night upon her return but she always walks down the road from a little ways down, thereby blinding my vision, although I can always hear a car setting off in a rapid manner with lights dimmed or off. As if she has got out of the car round the corner and walked the little way home. Why is this? Is it not a taxi? Is it friends dropping her off? Who? I once picked mobile phone up just to see what time it was, and at the sight of that she went absolutely beserk and screamed that I should never touch her phone again and why was I checking up on her anyway. Anyway, I have never approached the subject with my wife. I think deep down I just didn't want to know the truth but last night I had enough and soon after she went out again and I decided to check on her this time around. I decided I was going to hide behind my car which would give me a unobstructed veiw of the whole street, so thereby I could clearly see which car she gets out of. It was whilst crouched behind my car that I noticed a little rust around my inner rear wheel arch. I was devastated beyond words could portray! So my Question is should I fix it myself or take it to a body shop ?
  9. On second thoughts we've just got rid of one of them
  10. Watatoad you're a breath of fresh air, when are you running for Prime Minister you've got my vote
  11. Damn right they won't be happy until the whole countryside and it's wildlife is off limits, in their world Mink cuddle Ducklings, The Fox lies with the Lamb and all Deer are called Bambi. Do not give the anti an inch they live in a bubble they'll never understand "I am a man – man is a hunter – I am a hunter" as Watatoad puts it.
  12. I've never used a livebait and have no desire to but to implace a ban on it is wrong, I have experienced bans placed on my way of life by people who have no idea about if you don't like something simply don't do it. We need to be united as anglers I don't differentiate between any of the creatures on this earth if you're willing to stick a hook into a maggot or a worm to catch a fish then why is a small fish any different?.
  13. The innovative 'festival of fishing' created by a group of Cumbrian fishing enthusiasts in 2009 is to happen again. The 2010 event has a similar but expanded format, with a programme of some 50 events aimed at both people who fish, and those who've never had a go at the sport. The events are taking place at different locations around the county, and we're asking folk who want to participate to pre-book online in advance, wherever possible. The festival website carrying the full programme of events is at www.cumbriafishingfestival.co.uk Don't forget, Cumbria has a well developed tourist infrastructure, so there's loads for non-fishing partners to do. If you're thinking about a Spring break, this might be just the ticket.
