  7. You could always look at barrow platforms, penrose and a couple of others do them..they are expensive, around 80 - 100 pounds but are dead easy to use and come with range of accessories...I've had one 3 years and for on matches they are brilliant. When pleasuring or overnight stays, then a fold up whhelbarrow is excellent. See above reply...

  9. I would be very wary about putting a naked flame near carbon, have you ever seen what a cig can do to a pole, I have when one of the lads decided he could smoke, hold a pole and feed with catapult at same time. It was exceedingly funny to see the pole section explode in his hand and slightly scary....so be careful with carbon.....

  13. People are stupid sometimes, they believe what they read or hear in the media and whilst ever groups like PETA are around then you will get this sort of rubbish. It would help if the RSPCA or RSPB were on our side but seems not so, look at the black plague, it seems that your friend is misinformed and needs re-educating...why not offer to take them out for a day and show them what fishing can do for you

  18. Can anyone help. I'm going to buy a new rod and looking at Preston Carbonactive 13", the Normark Crusader 13" or the Diawa Matchwinner which I hasd a sneaky look at the other day. Any thoughts? I tend to fish both matches and pleasure on a variety of venues, matches tend to be carp puddles and pleasure can be rivers and still waters. I can be a bit heavy handed in my appraoch so need to take some stick? Any thoughts would be much appreciated, any other rods will be considered if around same price ranga Cheers me dears

  20. I bought an okuma whan they first came out and have just bought a metalloid, this is by far the best reel i have used and I have tried shimano et al. The only reel I've tried that is better is the top of the range diawa tds2500ia that costs over £150. I would recommend them to anyone

  22. re the below ....... Can you give us your definition of democracy? My book defines it as “government by all the people, direct or representative; a form of society ignoring hereditary class distinctions and tolerating minority views." So Britain now fails the democratic test of that definition. That means we had democracy in Britain for less than thirty two years. ....... To follow the above on democracy limits the arguement about democracy as we in this country still have class distictions within the inherent power bases, look at the House of lords....to qoute a friend, we in Britain live in a time limited, post conservative, non-maleavolent elected dictator..... Bill Bryson once wrote that Britain existed like a communist state for 40 years after the war due to our inability to question, demand or disbelieve our leaders, we existed on their whim, under their rules and in a system of unchanging misdirection by those in power. nothing changes
