  1. In regards to the force 8 set. The moment they arrived i felt they looked and felt very very cheap, i hoped once i got them in use my initial thoughts would be forgotten.......nope they really are bargain basement trash that are poorly put together. Secondly while float fishing near my carp set up i almost lost 1 of my rods due to the bight alarm just not giving any bleeps at all, after close inspection it turns out the sounds on the alarm no longer work...1 lost fish, more importantly for me would of been if the rod had gone in then its a snagged carp (fish care is one of my prioritys). Lastly another one of the alarms bleep systems gave up the ghost around 3 weeks ago. Am now in the market for Delkims or something thats 100% reliable lol just nowt from TFG
  2. The thefts cant be good for business as word travels fast, hopefully word will eventually travel round and the place will come good.
  3. i moved just north of Four seasons fishery 2 years ago and have fished various lakes i.e cleveley bridge, hudsons farm etc etc, ive mentioned in conversation with fellow local anglers 4 seasons fishery and to be honest what ive heard has put me off, in paticular a common converstion is that people have had tackle stolen, can anyone shed light on this? Picking up the leaflet you think the fishery looks great, however word of mouth travels fast and theres a lot of bad mouthing the place.
  4. thanks for the replys so far Delkims do exactly what i want but i cant bring myself to spend £400 on 3 and reciever, however id like your opinions on the following 1. Fox mmxr alarms (think they've been discontinued) but roughly £200 or thereabouts 2. sundridge optonics £70ish for full set. 3. sundridge G2 set (150ish, full set) no vibrate but you can plug bobbins into it. Its a shame the force 8 set wasent built better, they do 90% of what i wanted them to do....but they've lost me fish...which is unforgivable lol
  5. A question to all the more experienced carpers here Im looking to upgrade my alarms which at the moment are a set of 3 tfg force 8 alarms and reciever.........the reason is i think they are total rubbish My wants in a new set 1. Set of 3 2. Wireless reciever with vibration, i like to have little or no sound from alarms during nights so i dont annoy other anglers, shame a lot of other anglers dont feel the same way. 3. Waterproof, and i know a lot of alarms that state waterproof just aint. 4. Nightlights would be nice 5. Perhaps bobbins that light up when i get a run (link to bite alarms) 6. cost - I wont pay over the odds but willing to buy a good set if they are reliable. Ive been researching a little while and i was going to go for a prologic set vtsw but after reading the reviews hhmm not a chance, so please help
  6. Hi, i fish cleveley bridge on a regular basis and ive learned that overall its a hard water if your after specimen carp. You've got a great chance at bagging one of the bigger ones when you book night fishing (which the owner says most of the carp get caught at night). The specimen lake has a grass carp 28lb,thats mostly seen around the corner where the huge garage resides (you cant miss it lol) spodding doesnt work there as the fish are quite spooky, fishing as close to the snags, even a few inchs away from the bank will get you runs and ive seen a few people surface stalking around these areas with mixed results. Particle baits get mullered by the silver fish population....i balled in a few balls of groundbait once and im positive every single tiddler in the lake came to my corner. good luck.
  7. jogging the memory....a very small Roach.
  8. Ive had mine for around a year, learned very quickly to take my time laying it out on the ground properly, otherwise it just wont go up. Used it in foul weather with no problems and overall it hasent let me down once, on the other hand putting it away in that bag they provide is a knightmare.
  9. Hi, to all fellow anglers lol, names Jared and i live up the north west of England. Have been fishing for the past 23 years, mainly float fishing but have recently gotten into Carping with mixed results, good luck to all and i hope we smash a few pbs this year.
