Been there and have the T-Shirt. It is a common fault if you use Biological powder. You are either using too much powder or have insufficient water feed into your machine. It is to do with Bacteria. Take out the dispenser drawer and clean every part of the enclosure in the machine. Clean the dispenser drawer in diluted bleach. Take out the machines filter and ensure that is fully clear of debris. Next, using any disinfectant, set the machine on a 95 degree wash, without any clothes in of course. Then using a limescale and debris cleaner Oust run the machine on the program indicated on the box. It should rectify the problem almost immediately.

Do not remove the Lilly leaves in one go in Summer or Autumn. The leaves help the pond regulate itself. The leaves block sunlight, which reduces Algae blooms, keeps the water cooler than if they were absent and provides food for invertebrates when they live, die or decay. The more growth there is the more nutrients are required which starves Algae of food. If you want to remove them do it in winter using a garden rake, ensure that you cap the metal ends. If you have a good sized swimming pool then you can empty some of the pond water into it water thus giving you easier access. Don't worry about disturbing the silt as it does the pond good to have the bottom disturbed as it releases gases not necessarily wanted in the pond. The lower water levels will also allow you to maintain the pond. It will also give you the opportunity of removing any diseased roots from the stock thus ensuring the continued health of the plant. I use a Vac wet and dry hoover to remove excess silt, don't take it all. If you have a lot of, as I do, you can cut in half any root tuber and sell them on Ebay.

The couple need to immediately contact their local authority as they would be top of the list for social housing. At least then they would have some security for their future. As one or more are disabled this gives them priority. CAB will be a waste of time as they have no real power to intervene. If the landlord wants them out and has a notice provision on the tenancy agreement then it is done. If you are friends with the couple remind them to reclaim any bonds or deposits paid.

Christmas is a time for children and as a parent I don't have time to be for or against. My pleasure comes from seeing their smiles and my agony comes from the realisation of how much it cost.

Personally, I wouldn't mind a cold snap... In my shed I have winter thermals for the whole family capable of dealing with temperatures as low as -25 c so should the cold weather arrive I can cope. If the cold spell is going to be comparable to the big freeze in the winter of 2010/2011 then I am sure we will cope. If it does get exceptionally cold and for a long period remember to check up on any of your elderly or infirm neighbours. In my village we offer the elderly shopping trips, town runs and transport to any medical appointments free of charge.

But, the story is a part of Christian teaching, however unpalatable the consequence are, do the parents not have the right to do as they see fit with their own children. Personally, I think they are idiots but in a small community where religious teaching is rammed home on a daily basis what do you do? If a child is brought up to believe, for example, the moon is green and no-one is allowed to contradict that how can you enlighten someone to an obvious error, they will not believe anything to the contrary of what they have been taught.

People are taught in Christian countries that all is as God wills it. These two people have stood by their beliefs, yes it has cost them two of their children, in a Country which is supposedly a christian country, where faith is king, which results in them being prosecuted for their faith in their God. Does God not test his followers? Do you reckon they were asked to swear on a bible when being questioned? The Bible tells of the story of Lott, who lost many children because of his faith when tested by the Devil. God is supposed to have said do your worst but don't kill him. The Devil being eventually frustrated gives up and slinks back into the depths.The story then tells that after Lott had passed the tests he was rewarded by God with ever more children. Children are taught the lesson of Lott in religious classes in my sons school and I am sure schools in other christian countries teach it also. I am a non believer but these people have only exercised their religious freedom have they not, admittedly with disastrous consequences ultimately.

Had a problem with one of my teeth last week so booked an emergency appointment with my dentist. Being the UK, an emergency dental appointment meant a four day wait. For anyone not familiar with our system finding a dentist is like trying to find Unicorn sh*t. Anyway turned up today for my dental appointment after four days of sheer agony to be asked the following by the receptionist, "So I know we have you booked in for an emergency dental appointment can you confirm that it is to do with your teeth."..as the people behind me burst out laughing I raised my middle finger and said, " No, it's my middle finger can you fix it." The two other receptionists looked at their colleague with amusement and suppressed a laugh at my reply. The receptionist I spoke to told me not to be rude to which I replied that she might reconsider her employment if the fact she was working in a dentist did not give her a clue as to why people needed emergency dental appointments. I know the practice manager was not amused. Now what idiot, who works in a dentist, would ask you why you needed an emergency dental appointment. I'm just glad the dentist was competent enough to locate the right tooth.

Why not get the clampers out and have them clamp each caravan until they stump up the cost of parking plus fees? The clampers could be escorted by the police who would then give them a little bill for their time. If the authorities did this I bet once word got around not many Gypsies would want to set up their sites willy nilly. Should do the same for our own native breed of travelers too. I wonder how they got the dog through quarantine so quickly? Do they not have to be kenneled for months to rule out rabies? A local farmer was invaded 2 years ago and resolved the illegal occupation by spraying the field around the caravans with fertilizer. They all left within 2 hours. They leave such a mess and after they had gone the farmer had to shell out £1500 to remove what they had left. The UK seems frightened to tackle them head on preferring dialogue over action whilst the local community suffers. When travelers appear they cause nothing but misery and crime rates soar.

Buy a 3 ply liner, if you choose a liner, from PONDKEEPER and use their underlay also as his will give you a lifetime guarantee so that if it ever fails they replace the liner for you without question. Ensure that when you lay the underlay and liner you wear no footwear. Under the underlay lay cardboard,get it from any shop freely. The cardboard acts as an extra barrier and rots slowly leaving a black humus type layer which holds down stones and sharps missed. Once you have laid the liner fill the pond and leave for 10 days to settle, do not add your plants or fish yet. When you're ready for fish add only Goldfish first in the first month and then move to other species as Goldfish are an excellent indicator of water condition. Find some water slater's from a local river and keep them in a mild disinfectant solution for 3 days before introducing them, they do well to break down sludge and decaying vegetable matter and are also great food for the fish. Buy live Bloodworm from your local pet shop and after disinfecting for 24 hours introduce them too. Add fresh water snails also, ensure they are disinfected before adding them, great food for Carp. To disinfect have a tank with cooking salt in the water @ around 1 teaspoon per litre of water. Only use cooking salt as table salt is poisonous. When you dig your pond add a small shelf all the way around and lay turf into the water to the depth of the shelf. This protects the liner from the Sun and the turf takes excess nutrients from the water helping to keep Algea at a minimum. Fish spawn in the grass at the edge and it provide protection to small vertebrates. Plant Canadian Pond weed as this plant is eaten by the fish and grows fast, again taking excess nutrients, it also is a great plant to keep Oxygen levels high. Plant Lillies as they provide shade and cut sunlight from the water, which in hot weather leeches out oxygen. At the edges plant Marsh Marigolds and Iris, you will see swathes of insects visiting the flowers. Plant Rushes at the deepest edges. If you are using filtration clean out the sediment weekly to start. and then monthly. Add no chemicals to the water as the plants will purify it. I have had a smaller pond for 3 years now, 15 foot by 11 foot, using the methods above it has been trouble free. I have Carp, Goldfish, Rudd, Roach, Loaches, Gudgeon, Golden/Green Tench and Skimmer Bream. The Rudd, Roach and Goldfish breed yearly in the grass and I may have a few new Carp this year. I uploaded a short video of my pond not long after construction so I have shown it to give you an idea of what to do. The fish are much bigger now and the Carp weigh up to 8lb now. Good luck.

The Government has achieved the biggest brainwash ever. Instances such as this story of blatant abuse of a system are few and far between but seemingly get the greatest headline yet the plight of a WW2 veteran who cannot afford to heat his/her home is relegated to the sidelines. Yes, I agree that this family are deliberately taking advantage of the system and I personally think that they should be neutered or forced into a work for benefit scheme because lets face it if they have so much time to breed then they have time to work. However, as has happened in the past, when a government wants to get out of the firing line, government has/have wasted more money over the last few years than anyone else, what better way to draw attention from themselves than by getting the peasants to fight amongst themselves. The United Kingdom wishes to model the USA, which is very alarming given that the USA is at major risk of defaulting its loans, insofar that our Welfare safety net is under attack and in danger of being wiped out forever. Benefit recipients, which describes a great range of people from the layabout dosser to the pensioner to the crippled, are in the papers so frequently that the populace has accepted, because they are too stupid to work it out for themselves behaving like Sheep, the spin from Government that they are a drain on society and so vilified. Throwing stories in about families who abuse the system will then heighten public opinion against benefit recipients in turn giving government a free hand to attack the safety net that is vital to so many. Yet the percentage of those who are abusing the system so blatantly is negligible. I have just recently returned from a trip to Tenerife which left me completely stunned. The hotel I stayed in had a large number of German tourists all of whom were well into their retirement. Around the pool a group of them were openly discussing the rights and wrongs of the German leadership throughout the second world war. One old chap was lamenting the fact that in 1940 the policies of the German High command caused the stalling of the German blitzkrieg and that Goring failed the people in dealing with the RAF....the comments and complaints continued reaching the point where they had wished that the UK population were exterminated until I walked over to their table and asked them exactly how many more concentration camps would have been created had the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe had successfully subjugated the UK. The look I received from the table chilled me to the bone.... As I walked away they called me some very insulting names, Schweinehund being one, but I understand a little German and so told them that should their insults continue I would show them my version of final solution.......they remained quiet in my presence for the rest of my time there. I went there for a peaceful holiday and left wondering why these pensioners still had so much hatred against the British.....

Instead of complaining as individuals people should stand together to gain change. But, you won't as you are too frightened of losing what you already have, which is naff all anyway and whatever you have can be taken away by the whim of compulsory purchase. But what people have or think they have is a mere pittance of what they could have. There is enough wealth in this country for all to live comfortably and have a happy life. Follow politics and it is just a game and at the end of the day it makes no difference what you do, who you vote in, those with the power will shaft you regardless. Our whole society is likened to a pyramid scheme which is why those at the bottom always lose out. If people really want change then it is very simple. Don't vote. Don't pay your rent / Mortgage. Don't pay your taxes. Every working person stay at home for 2 weeks. Don't drive or use public transport. Then turn around to politicians and tell them that if they want you to do the norm they need to treat you better.... No-one will do it though.....it is unbelievable that you don't realise that you actually hold all the aces, you just have to realise what an ace looks like. Oh well, onto the next general bul***t election.

We only had the Polish, Free French, Czechs, etc etc, flying for the RAF because their own armies had been defeated. No-one could stop Blitzkrieg in the early years of World War 2 and the whole of mainland Europe fell within 12 months of September 3rd 1939. Great Britain would of and should of have fallen also in September 1940 but for bad management by the German high command. Now we have Festung Europa dictating policies which affect the very country that kept Hitler and his cronies at bay until the USA came on board. Another German balls up as the USA only declared war on the Japanese was that Hitler decided to declare war on them. Hitler had an idea of a united Europe and it looks as though it is coming through headed by a German.... With hindsight what was the point of world war 2? We have suffered defeat 74 years after declaration.

Great Britain did not win the battle of Britain by force of arms it won the battle through the idiocy of the German leadership. When our Radar was decimated and our Airfields were curtailed a little bombing raid by bomber command on Berlin caused fury with AH and he completely lost his head ordering the Luftwaffe to bomb London instead. Goring then tied the hands of the fighters insisting that they stayed close to the bombers. This and only this gave fighter command the time to rebuild. The RAF was at one point only 2 weeks from being totally defeated and then the door would have been well and truly open. I take nothing away from the bravery of the pilots but Adolf Hitler and Herman Goring were our best allies in 1940. This wasn't the first mistake that the Germans made either; the famous halt order at Dunkirk meant Great Britain retained its core fighting men although they lost all of their equipment in the evacuation. The BEF would have been completely annihilated had the order to halt the Wehrmacht not been given.
