  1. some type of bread?
  2. I've really enjoyed using the method feeder since I started fishing. Micro pellet feed and sweetcorn as a hook bait have given me two pb's (carp and bream). ONe of the things I really like is the ease of setup. No messing around with floats, shotting patterns and loose feeding etc. Just an inline feeder, rubber bead and a swivel
  3. I know everyone has an opinion etc etc etc. But these sort of topics with people getting on their soapboxes, really puts me off this place. Maybe it's because I come on here for fishing discussion
  4. Me again, I've had quite some success on the pol;e and have really got into it. I've just got a couple of shotting questions and a general question. Recently, It has been very windy giving a very hard tow on the water. This has been blowing my rig all over the place, spoiling presentation. What sort of shotting pattern if any can prevent my rig going sideways? Getting towards the hook length, should I be using small dropper shot ? Normally I will just bulk the shotting capacity 1/3 up from the hook Lastly, I fished last week to an island on a match lake. Plumbing up led me to believe that I was fishing on a steep slope. Is it ok to fish on a slope? or would I be more prosperous finding th ebottom of the slope and fishing there? When I fished the slope I had plenty of bites but not many fish!
  5. I have the 7 series feeder and the float version also. Very good reels and great value. Very well built
  6. Paradise Lakeside lodges in york. Been there once already and going in a couple of weeks. Really nice place to fish
  7. I've only ever caught one pike, 9lbs 3oz Carp probably 2lbs or so
  8. Fished a local day ticket water today, known for good carp among other things, has a reputation for being a bit dodgy people wise. I decided to fish the feeder for a change. Hemp seed ground bait along with corn on the hair. All I could catch was blooming snotties! Good ones though. Remembered my scales for a change and the best was 7lbs 6oz. I was using just a plain setup. Paternoster rig to cage feeder. 15 inch hooklength. What would have been a better bait to tempt carp? A lot of them came out. Just not form my line! Notables for the day: Ea baliffs came and checked everyone out. Was nice to see them out as I had never been checked before. They even caught a couple of people without any paperwork. People need to remember that In general we want to hear their bite alarms when they have a bite. Not full volume when clipping up Why do people insist on leaving litter. When I was packing up, two guys in the swim next to me left a ton of crap behind which I went and picked up
  9. Thanks for the tips, no foul hooking today!
  10. I've recently taken up pole fishing, something I really am enjoying so far and my catch rates as you will have guessed, have gone up . One thing that bothers me though is that every trip I have have been on so far (4-5) I have foul hooked at least one fish Bite has been quite normal. Float goes under, I lift gently using my knee, a fight ensues and I either hook the fish in the pectoral or anal fin. The last thing I wat to do is injure fish or even worse, kill one. Is this just bad luck? or am I doing something wrong?
  11. I'm off to fish a canal for the first time tomorrow Plan for the day is to have a carp rod setup and then just float fish in the margins with another. The place im fishing has "moderate boat traffic" and I wanted to know what I could do to avoid my carp rod being disturbed by a boat? I don't really want to hook one!
  12. Quick question, which is the more sensitive tip, red or green? Or are they the same?
  13. Hi all, I'm going to give expander pellets a go and was looking for the easiest way to prepare them without a pump ? I have a choice of 2 or 4mm in the shed. I have only used them as dry and loose feed before. All help appreciated Ben
