  1. Hi Budgie, thanks for the swift reply. I've managed to get hold a gentleman that has made things a lot clearer for me...apparently the Assassin II poles number 4 section is shorter as standard but it is not a "short" number 4. I've got a number 9 which is the printed section butt at 11m, but I could use an extension to get to 12.5 if ever the need arose. Are printed sections more rigid than others? I would love to have the printed extension section to 12.5 if anyone has one! Looking to get hold also of a match three and a power 2 for this pole too! Daniel
  2. Hi Larsargi....welcome to the forum, i'mnew myself too. The most important thing ive learnt about carp fishing is patience, there are so many variables to consider when fishign for carp, and if any of them are against you, you're fighting an uphill battle. The important things to consider and time of day, temperature, wind, humidy....and the most important thing i found was choices of bait and bait presentation! Perhaps the best piecve of advice i could give you would be to get into your local tackle shop and ask them, be specific about the venue, it's likely that someone else has fished the same venue as you,and maybe able to share some of their knowledge with you. As a golden rule, when i go fishing, io also ask "Len" (the guy in the tackle shop) what he has heard about the whaters im gonna fish, and also, any advice. You've gotta think, these guys have been match fishing for a long long time, and usually (they certainly are with me), a lot more experienced! Daniel
  3. Can someone please explain to me the pole section setup on an assassin ii 11m pole. I have just got hold of one of these 2nd hand, and it looks and feels great. Been looking for spares and extras on fishingspares.co.uk, but the website is confusing me. How many sections should this pole have?.... I currently have a power top 2, a short section (i believe is number 4), then 3 more sections before the 11m butt section with all the decals on it. If i want to make this a 12.5m pole, do i just need to buy one section?? Also, if i buy a Match top 3 kit, do i also need to buy a regulare number 4 section? Someone please advise, this is sending me insane! Thanks a bunch, Daniel
  4. Hi Folks, Just wanted to say a big hello to everyone.....i'm having a little dilemma, hence my decision to join a forum and hopefully some of you may be able to help me in my quest for answers! I'm relatively new to pole fishing.... i generally used an 8m margin pole, just for dragging out lumps at my local commercials, and thatsuited me fine. However, i'm now fishing my local canal a lot more, and although my 13ft diawa has done me a wonderful service, i've decided to get myself an 11m pole that's not gonna break the bank, but is going to do me a service. Anyhow, after reading a lot of reviews, ive managed to get hold of a Leeda Assassin II (11m). This is my dilemma.... The pole itself has a power top 2, a short 4, and then it has 3 more sections before the butt of the 11m pole, which is basically the housing section for the other sections also. To my count, that's 7 sections....or 8 if you consider that a top 2 equates to a match 3 or whatever..... My problem is, i've been looking at fishingspares.co.uk to look at a 12.5m extension, and also looking at getting a match top kit (top 3)...but i'm confused by the number of sections and what replaces what?? The website... www.fishingspares.co.uk stipulates that the butt section for the 11m assassin II is section number 9, and the extension is section number 10. If that's the case.... then do i have a section missing? I've got power top 2, short 4,and 3 sections before the butt, then the butt itself. SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!! Many thanks, Daniel
