  1. hi emma, im currently trying to teach my missus some fishing so no jokes from me lol, im quite new to fishing myself but really enjoy it when i get chance, i enjoy carp fishing which is great if your fishing for size but if your fishing for a real nice fight barble is the 1 to go for especially if you have any rivers nearby, but if you still wanna catch that big carp maybe take a look at my thread (double hair rig) maybe it will help you catch you pb as it did me......happy fishing hun
  2. cheers dales, i was well chuffed i know that there are bigger ones in the 20's at earlswood so if luck is on my side maybe i'll get yet another pb lol, i've never fished for catfish b4 but wouldn't mind giving it ago, i hope the rig works for you when you do go for the catfish and lands you a whoppper!!!!
  3. hey mate, yeah all you do is make yourself a standard hair rig but make the loop on the hair quite large, enough so that when you cut the loop in 2 that you can make 2 normal hair loops from the 2 ends, then tie your hook with a knotless not then attach the hook length to your line, i hope that helps i dont have any pics as of yet but will try and get some soon, hope it works for you also mate.. let me know on this thread how its goes happy fishing
  4. thankyou newt and i will, plus any tips that will help me to catch some nice fish and where i would greatly appreciate as i am still very green on the fishing scene
  5. well i went to earlswood lakes on sunday but as there was a competition on i decided to fish the margins and caught loads of perch around 25 no bigger than 1lb tho on red maggots but the last 2hrs i thought sod it and tried it with a pva bag containing some small 6mm high trout oil pellets some and a few 8mm green stim swim 8mm pellets with a couple tiger nut flavour pellets and red maggots and the hairs i put 2 of the stim swim pellets and 2 tiger nut pellets................... within 20 mins i caught an 18lb mirror , which is my new pb, and another 20mins an 11lb mirror with a really messed up mouth, so it was success and i recommend trying it out on any big lake, ps i only cast out 2 pva bags b4 i left and cought straight away on both. i will try again to make sure it wasn't a fluke happy fishing every1...
  6. Hi i read a while ago how to do a double hair rig with a pva bag and was wondering if anyone has used this rig succesfully whilst carp fishing, as i have made just the 1 rig to try out, i will let you know how it goes tomorrow if no-one has tried it on here yet..
  7. yeah you can get a day ticket i think its about £7 the last time i went i also caught my first and pb barble there at 10lb 6.. happy fishing
