Awaarr, brilliant mate. I agree wholeheartedly with the last one. God they look stupid.
  2. Main bar shuts at 0100, the beach bar (where most of the kids/Indies are from about 2030) shuts at 2300, and the Pool and Tennis Bars shut at about 1800 ish. Forgot to mention, there is tennis and football coaching, and things like adult volleyball, football and waterpolo organised.
  3. It was 2 Euros and 70 cents for 20 in greece, and about 50 euros for a packet of 400.
  4. Someone just wanetd to know what so of people it catered for, and what you could do there and if it was a good place to take kids. You can windsurf, waterski, sail, snorkel, and SCUBA dive. (All included except waterskiing). It is a brilliant place for kids of all ages, as they run clubs for kids from about 4 up to the age of 17. Each club is split into a group, (roughly by age) and each group has a leader. Activities are organised for each group, and its very relaxed and informal, so if you don't want to do an activity you don't have to, and you can just watch or go off and do your own thing. Main restaurant is open all day pretty much, and there is a traditional Greek Taverna where the food is superb. The Taverna is open in the mornings and evenings, but guests under the age of 12 are not allowed and you have to book in advance for an evening meal. There is what called Indy Breakfast and Dinner when all the of the Indy Club (for 14-17 year olds) meet for breakfast before going on to what ever they are doing, and dinner in the evening followed by evening entertainment organised by the Indy leaders. There are evening entertainment for adults as well, with quizzes and such like in the evening at the main bar. The alcohol system is run along the English system, with over 18's free to buy drinks, but under 18's have to get a token from their parents every day specifying the number of drinks (and what type they are allowed) and it does work. If they don't have a token, then they will not get served. Supervision ends at 2230, but there is a nightwatchman who comes reguarly from 0000 to about 0700, checking on the resort and down on the beach where most of the Indies stay. It is a registered RYA centre for sailing and surfing, and the instructors are very good and helpful. The best place to stay is the villas, as they are larger than the hotel, and all of them have a sea view. There is a separate beach for the kids (under 16/17) to sail and such like, which is more sheltered, and both beaches have staff in motor launches for help with boats if you capsize, ect. Both the main beach and kids beach have courses run such as RYA Level 1 and Stage 1 in both windsurfing and sailing. Brilliant place to go, for kids and adults alike. I woudl really recomend going, as I spent two weeks there and loved every minute of it.
  5. Shortly before I went to Lakitira in Kos for two weeks, someone (I think it was on here) was thinking of going there and I offered to tell them what it was like. I can't remember if it was someone on here, and if it was, who it was, but if they would like to let me know and I will tell them what I thought of it. Apologies if it is the wrong forums guys. Cheers. [ 16. August 2004, 05:30 PM: Message edited by: Apache ]

LOL. They are pretty cool actually. Nice one Newt.
  7. Araldite then, that is flexible.
  8. Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned. Nice one.
  9. Last time I was in town I was pleased to see a group of lads fishing the Thames, and even more pleased to see they were catching. That is until they hooked a 2lb perch and had no landing net and there is a 3 foot drop to the river from the path. COmplete stupidity, and I went over and told them, and also asked to see their licences. The reply was unprintable, but went along the lines of: "Get the hell out of here before we knock your block off." Extremely annoyed and micked off by their stupid behaviour and recklessness. The expressions of passer's by was less than approving.

  14. No idea mate, but it worked for my mate first time.
  15. Andy, very sorry to hear about this sad state of affairs. I am horrified to think that people my age would do such a thing. Hope that a few of them were, how can I put this, severely damaged is a good enough way. B*****ds. Hope the next person they try it on with is either built along the lines of mike Tyson or is a black belt in karate. [ 21. July 2004, 06:09 PM: Message edited by: Apache ]
  16. People who fish small lakes with three rods, bolt rigs and take up most of the water and then sit in their bivvy all day and monopolise the water. And those who see you hook a good fish and cast into your swim in the hope of getting one. I have on several occasions, cast across them, hauled it in and cut the end tackle off, if a polite word does not work.
  17. Cheers mate, thats the one.
  18. Not nice to think that the first message on that page could be true.
  19. Yes they are. Seen a few around where I live in Berkshire too. [ 20. July 2004, 11:24 PM: Message edited by: Apache ]
  20. The Royal Berks at Winkfield, there are meant to be some double figure carp in there according to a mate.
  21. After a quick look at a RSPB bird book, from that description I am inclined to agree with the eagle. Does seem strange though, I must admit.
  22. Oh I have more than a few of these. (might get modded0
