  1. Steve,

Going off on a tangent slightly. I don't know if you have any control over this but I tried to change my password on the site several times unsuccesfully from the one supplied on registering. Unfortunately, the original password was sent to my home E-mail address and I hadn't forwarded the mail to myself at work, hence no last minute bidding from me to secure Andy Ormes Amazing Meat book :(:(

I'll keep an eye out after the weekend for the next batch though.

    Cheers

  2. Chris,

Cheers for that, much appreciated. The rod sounds exactly like I had in mind, particularly the extra length. I haven't seen one of these 'in the flesh' but if I find a good deal per mail order I'll take the plunge.

    Thanks again.

  3. Hello All,

I'm in the market for a new rod for trotting on rivers with both centrepin and fixed spool reels. As mentioned in a previous thread the JW rods have their limitations (I already own one). What do you fellas feel is the best compromise on the market for control, power and price? I'm targeting Chub and Barbel sometimes having to use 'hook and hold' type tactics.

    Cheers

  4. Which of the on-line weather forecast sites do you think provides the most accurate details? I've been a little disappointed with the ones I use, in particular Metcheck.com, which apart from being inaccurate actualy often seems to contradict itself between its short and medium term forecasts!

    Tight lines,

  5. Probably a silly question..but anyhow..!!

I've had one of the above rods for two years now and very happy I am with it too. However, I haven't a clue what the function of one of the supplied quivertips is for.

The rod comes with three 'standard' push in white glass fibre tips, fair enough, but it also comes with one carbon one of the same colour as the blank and I'm not sure what its purpose is. Can anyone help? I haven't even experimented with it so I can't comment but have been told it's for strong currents...??? if this is what it is intended for I would question the lack of colour contrast for using it in low light conditions.

    Cheers, T61.

  7. I didn't do much with it on Sunday on the river with only bread working that for me that day, but I tried it again yesterday for a spot of therapeutic 'easy water' carp fishing and did quite well with it. I certainly agree with their claim that it stays on the hook well..!!

I'm off for a weekends fishing with my mate down on the Teme from tomorrow so I'll give it another bash methinks..!!

    Cheers fellas.

  9. Hello All,

Has anyone had any success with the above Van Den Eynde product? I've just prepared some in preparation for tomorrows assault on the Aire Chub and it certainly smells the part. Being a creature of habit though I'll take my usual 'normal' flavoured meats along though.

    Tight Lines all.

  11. I've just got back from my first trip out of the new season. Fished just upstream of Burley on 't' Wharfe at Ilkley. Really enjoyed myself with my first fish of the (coarse) season a minnow. Greedy bugger swallowed my worm fairly deep requiring great surgical skill to save the poor unfortunate. I went on to catch Chub to 3:14, nowt special but a cracking start to the year, and I've the sunburn to remind me of it tomorrow in the office..!!
