  1. that what ever the weight of your line is it definately can take a lot more because it is in the water? For example 15lb line could take up to 25lb fish with a good fight? Newbie at fishing so want to find out as much as I can about my tackle! Thanks
  2. I was just wondering has any got one or know of anyone with one? They are going really cheap on ebay and was thinking of buying one. First bivvy due to enjoying night fishing so much on friday night. didnt want anything really expensive just something to get me started!
  3. just thought id let you know that my fishing on friday was pretty decent! caught a nice 1.5lb roach and lots of tiddlers! Went fishing today or yesterday rather now at Hurleston Hall with a few people i know who have been fishing for years. They give me a ledger to put out into the water. baited up with a nice ball of sweetcorn on the rig and had a nice mix of method on my feeder! after 15 minutes of being in the water my bite alarm whizzed and i caught a nice 8lb common! my pb haha! looking for a cheap calp rod and baitrunner now to get me into that type of fishing! anyone that knows of anyone selling anything or selling them themselves then let me know!
  4. Think its a good chance for every fisher to get out to the lake! Hopefully its a good day of weather!
  5. completly agree with you! must be hard being troublesome!
  6. Im looking for a 3 piece at the moment just because my other one is a pile of ****. 25 quid for both rod and reel? haven't got any pictures have you?
  7. Ye was quite bad what happened there. Think everything is ok at the moment. sounds like a plan I think we are fishing at the three pools this friday so your advice is very helpful and I definately will use it! i dont suppose anyone knows of a good recipe for a good ground bait? I'm thinking about making a good mix of different things and only had a few ideas: bread, dog biscuits, sweetcorn! any other ideas please let me know! thanks!
  8. Thanks for the help its much appreciated. Because i yet to have bought a plummet to measure the depth i'v always asked fishers at the lake how deep they believe i should fish in the waters and gone with there suggestions. Think its about time i should try to sink to the bottom! I'm going this friday to a local place either the Three Pools or Sefton Farm. I live in Southport and the closest to me are, Sefton Farm Fishery, Mere Beck, Three Pools, Bannister Farm, Leisure Lakes and Hurleston Hall. If anyone is familar with any of these lakes please let me know any good tips you can pass on to me! I will use the tips that you have all given me and hopefully fingers crossed catch a couple of nice fish! If so i'll upload some pictures haha! Thanks again

  10. How much would you do them two for or are you not selling anything seperate? Beginner fisher you see looking for some cheap stuff to start myself off with
  11. Hi, I'm a beginner fisher. Only 17 at the moment and started fishing with a whip a couple of years ago. Recently decided to get rid of that idea as I wanted to progress further. I was just wondering is there any help you can give me or tips and advice on what I can do to become a better float fisher? I'm currently using luncheon meat, sweetcorn and worms as bait. I have not been catching much at all and some times going blank! Would really love any good tips you can give me: groundbaiting before i start to cast where abouts on the lake i should be floating what sort of depth is the best for floating what bait/groundbait is the best any ideas, advice and tips are welcome! Thankyou, Luke
