  1. Ive got a Shimano Hyperloop feeder,(heavy)excellent rod. Got it from WMAC. great value for the money, although I think the medium would have been sufficient for my needs!
  2. Seph Thanks for the info and help. Will give it a try next weekend. Desperate for that first Barbel of the season!! After that its all downhill? Anyway, good luck to all you barbel hunters out there! Mike
  3. H Seph Thanks for the response. Can I ask what flavour pellets and paste you use? Are they carp pellets. I have chance to fish the river up by Ombersley this weekend, should I use the same tactics you suggest there? Thanks again for your help Mike
  4. Hi Darren Thanks for your tips, will put them into practice when I go again in 2 weeks. will let you know how we get on. We did see a few barbel, in open water as you say, just could not get them to bite. Laid down a good bed of hemp, and fished over with meat. Mike
  5. Hi all Well I must say we struggled a bit today. Had a few nice Chub and grayling, but no Barbel. Tried hemp, meat, corn and maggot. Also caster and hemp in a feeder. Must say the water is very low. Lets hope there is a bit of water on when you go up in a couple of weeks chuby. Never mind theres always next weekend!!
  6. Hi Nathan Fish the jam factory regularly. Are you using a pole or rod and line/ Mike
  7. Will let you know, I live in Worcester, just where the Teme and Severn join up. Will be fishing the Severn next week at Ombersley. Mike
  8. Thanks ayjay! Done the necessary. Mike
  9. Hi Chuby Yes I noticed the water was low on the Teme in the week. Hoping the rain on Thursday will have helped a bit. Saw some nice Chubb just down fron the bridge at little hereford, might luck into some of them if the barbel are not having it. Mike
  10. Thanks Lyn We are fishing on a private stretch up by Tenbury Wells, is feeder fishing a good method? I am thinkink of hemp/caster in the feeder, with maybe meat on the hook. Will try the trout pellet on my 2nd rod. Mike
  11. Just noticed my message was timed at 11.29, when I actually posted at 10.29? Is the site fixed on GMT?
  12. Hi all I am lucky enough to be going fishing on the Teme tomorrow for barbel. This is my first time for barbel. Any tips regarding bait and tackle etc would be much appreciated. I understand feeder fishing is the best method? But what bait would be best in the feeder? Thanks for any help/advice. Mike
  13. tensioned is spelt with an S , and teme would be right , as I live 1/2 a mile from where the Teme joins the severn Mike
  14. thanks Poledark, Would it be ok to use in an open end feeder? Also, should it be fed sparingly in case it overfeeds the swim? Mike
  15. Someone mentioned using Vitalin as an alternative to groundbait on a thread here recently. Well I picked up a 15kg bag today for £8, but can anyone tell me how to prepare it, and use it. Any advice/tips would be much appreciated. Thanks
