In the last few months i have fished a few day ticket waters and the perch have been outstanding. Tonight i fished my favourite style on the float . With a spot looking very perchy only a few meters out i put some prawns in garam masala over a bed of my special perch mix and had a great evening I always struggle with estimating a Perch weight and i am not sure why so i have been weighing those that look over 2lb. Tonight i had 11 in two hours with the smallest being 2lb 3oz and a cracking 3lb 9oz. Its without doubt that it is because there are no pike on these commercial fisheries and so they grow larger and larger. If you like Perch i think we are living in a golden age

I think i am interested in a Pole as i have some great spots on canals and rivers right on my doorstep and i have always wanted to give it a go. I have ordered a Browning 11 meter pole. I feel quite excited as it will be almost starting fishing again....

Is a reciept a valid form of purchase from a retailer ? When it says 'Sale' in the shop window and it says 'no returns' is this valid? If you are formally out on a xmas work party and a employee steals something from a third party is the employer liable or partly liable or not at all? If you see a fishing reel on the wrong hook priced up much cheaper as at that price it is what the price should be on there for whatever is being sold on that peg can you have that reel at that price? Can the shop owner refuse to give it to you at the lower price .? If not what does he have to do to refuse to sell it to you? Retail law in the main is geared up for the customer but most of the time they just are not aware of it

Interesting thread this as it opens up all sorts of retail laws that are very much in grey areas in fact the GP really do not know half their rights and sometimes i wish they would read the relevent law acts ( sales and goods and trades description etc etc) and many would be quite astonished on what rights they have and will wonder why they have been hood winked for many years. I could go through a long long list but i am sure they will be along soon but some of you might be quite surprised Sorry , not kidnapping the thread just throwing a angle in there to do with retail and their laws

Maybe so perhaps my memory is not so good. I talked to just about everyone that day. Left canadian is where i fished much of my time when i was a member and a good spot it was too for eels and perch . It may have been me as i only think i ever had one tench out of that swim mainly as i fshed maggot or worm for the eels at night and the perch during te day although i did have a nice carp in the margins. So perhaps it might have been you i spoke too. If i saw the face i would know but not to worry it was a good day at the Fish in although back then very weedy not sure what it is like nowadays even though i only live about 30 mins away now but loads of cracking waters around here

Yes you had a few eels if i remember....I didnt have any and i was fishing for them just had a load of jacks

Anyone remember them being called 'roach poles' when they first came out? I remember when they first came out i was about 10 or so and remember getting to see one at old bury hill with some mates and remember thinking what happens if he gets a Pike on that!!!!

Its just a aspect of fishing i have not tried yet so want to give it a go. Going to do a bit of fly fishing too...Now that will be a laugh i can't even see the things let alone cast them...
