  1. Hi,I don't suppose anyone knows where I can get a spool (metal if poss.) to fit the Shimano 4000 GTMStradic x, that could be posted to Spain? I can't find one anywhere? Cheers eaglet
  2. As said I can't find the same reel don't think they make them any more! mine was the 4000 GTM.
  3. Hi, Thanks for your reply. I have a Shimano 4000 GTM which is approx. 7yrs old since I bought it, never serviced (been here nearly 5 yrs) and I love it but I've never noticed the fighting drag to be as good as a free spool! I've just been on a site for Spro reels but it seems they only do 2 :- http://www.scribd.com/doc/66870764/Spro-Reels-2012 p33. Can't really make out the size, I'd like the same as the Shimano that I have if possible but they don't do my model any more. I notice that the Spro reels have quite a few? Any other thoughts, it's seems you may be my only 'adviser' at the moment, Cheers

Hi, Very late update but bought the Elmers Wood filler at £9.95 and filled and sanded, etc. Turned out great at less than 1/2 the price. Thanks again folks, eaglet

  7. Hi, I currently live in Spain and want to by a 'small' baitrunner. I'll need to ship the reel out here. What I'm after is advice on one that I can confidently buy without viewing/testing/handling the reel hence me asking you guys out there as I've had good advice before. I've got the Med/Larg. Shimano's which I use for carp I expect to be 10lbs and over but I'd like a smaller reel that'll comfortably handle the 'under' tens that are physco's and think they are much larger and will snatch your rod off your sticks in the blink of an eye. I know you shouldn't take your eye off your tackle but when you pour a cuppa it helps to have a good 'runner' attached to your rod! As said I'm relying on your help as I can't test the reel before use. Any help/advice will be greatly appreciated, Cheers eaglet

    HELP

Hi, Thanks to you all for taking the time to reply, much appreciated. Unfortunately this Pit Paste cost's over £10 to ship over to me in Spain and £7 + to buy which I thought was very expensive. I went onto a US site and the guys on there rate Elmers Wood filler which can be bought on ebay, etc and is over half the price. Think I'll give that a try, Cheers eaglet

    HELP

Hi, Not sure if this the right forum, maybe someone can either answer my question or direct me to the forum I should use? I have a Fox Kevlar Barbel which is a great rod albeit a few yrs old. The cork around the reel seat has started to rot/break away as if rotting or been eaten. It hasn't affected the use of the rod yet but before it does I'd like to repair it. All this said is there a compound that be be worked into the damaged area then sanded or whatever to repair the area? I don't think adding new cork sections would help as the area where the damage is isn't full sections of cork because of the reel seat. Any ideas readily accepted. I thought of buying a new butt section but if still made it'd cost a lot and p+p to Spain where I live would also be expensive and not cost effective hence this letter for help. Cheers eaglet
  10. Hi Rob, Thanks again for your reply. Not sure what I'll need exactly to do this but getting the basic stuff over here can be hard work. Do you know of any vidoe type of info. eg youtube that explains what's needed visually? Cheers
  11. Thanks to you and the other guy's for taking time out to advise me and sorry for the delaying in replying. I'll persevere and take on board what you advise but have a few Polaris floats it's an expensive game throwing them away. Still not the end of the world and thanks again, Cheers eaglet Thanks to you and the other guy's for taking time out to advise me and sorry for the delaying in replying. 12. Hi, I have both of this style of float and fish deep Embalses/Dams in Spain. I like to use these style of floats as I like to look at something rather than watch a tip or listen for an alarm. My query is of late both styles of floats don't seem to want to rise to the surface. I've left slack line for ages and they just don't want to rise. With the Polaris I'm using the correct size line for the 'hole' and the locslide floats, well I don't know as I'm not using heavy line but neither float wants to rise. Any experts out there who could advise please?? Cheers eaglet
  13. Hi, I'm looking at buying a new tackle holdall and getting it shipped to Spain. Can anyone point me in the right direction ref: make and shipping or give advice on either of these 2: Korum ITM Tabletop Carryall @ £49.99 or the Korum ITM Tabletop Ruckbag @£69.99? Cheers eaglet
  14. Thanks Andrew, I'm not having a lot of luck!! Cheers Eaglet
