  1. I bought season ticket at "small arms angling club". They "own" some part of river Lea/Lee. Iv'e done some sessions there. Day time i manage to cath only small roaches and some other small fish. Night time i've got some perch on worms and eel and it was a few more bites, but my line was to weak to hold it, so i'm guessing it was a carp. But it's no stream, like canal fishing. I was thinking about something like a feeder fishing cup. But i'm thinking to keep trying on Thames, just i need to find closer swimm than Richmong. Anyway, thank You for some info.
  2. Hello, Where'd you find about fishing matches near you? I live in "north london"( waltham abbay) and so far it's very hard to find any info about feeder fishing matches, maybe it's some kind of special websites? Or maybe anyone want to make so friendly matches( meeting, fishing, talking)? Thank you for answers.
  3. Thank You. I checked this place yesterday. We was in place few minutes before 6am. Water was still high, until we find a good swim for fishing and prepared our groundbait water start going down in ~30min it was ready for fishing. Stream was not very strong, 50gr fake fox free flow feeders was holding almost in the midle of the river. We was using gamakatsu hooks nr 12. Bait- sweetcorn+ few maggots. Got few small fishes in a seconds, it looks like a small chub, but i dont know for sure, so maybe someone can help me with that. 7.30am My friend hooked something big... After few minutes of fight big bream showed up. Unfortunately we didnt had a scales... Release: ~8am stream has gone, and nothing was helping. Until 10am we catch few small roaches and few small fishes in picture above. Next time we need to prepare better. My landing net( maves 3.3m) it's not long and strong enough for this kind a place and i need deeper landing net head. That's it for this time.
  4. Hello, did anyone knows where i can buy a day ticket to fish at TW10 6UY ? Or maybe it's free?
  5. Do anyone use bite alarms with feeders? I want to buy some for a night fishing, but i'm not sure... And what's the use of bobbin hangers? Just to keep line straight in bite alarm? Thanks.
  6. Hope is nothing wrong that i will use this post to ask? Season is coming closer and closer and looks like internet not giving me answers... I'm looking for a place to fish in river Thames, close to my living place (Waltham Abbey en9) and so far it's looks i'm at "dead end". Google maps satellites shows some kind a "urban fishing" places and i'm looking for something more like wild nature, or at least trees and grass... The other problem is that rivers is chopped like a bread and is so hard to find where to buy tickets(day/night) for specific range of the river. I know i'm asking a lot, i would be grateful for any help and guide advices. Thank You.
  7. Looks like Ural. Nice video.
  8. Was on monday (05-05-2014). Same reservoir (LM), i was with friend, tried maggot feeder, maggots, corns, worms. Again nothing. Weather was very nice. Most people was leaving empty handed ~10-11am. We was fishing bit longer, but completely nothing, not even a bite. Decided to change the place, maybe any suggestions? Or i need to wait until river season gonna start...
  9. I was reading that yesterday, but info is very old. To be honest i was surprised when i first came to Stow waters, it's looks dead. By that i mean it's no action on water surface, so i was bit confused, i was reading that average depth is about 10ft. So it's very strange, i only noticed water birds...
  10. So maybe i'm looking in a wrong place? Problem is i do not like to fish in a small ponds and rivers are still closed. What other options i have? But i can understand that circus and race to the swimms... I really appreciate Your help people. Thank You.
  11. Thanks, i will try that cocktail on monday. What about groundbait?
  12. Hello to everyone. Just started fishing in Walthamstow res. so i would be thankful for any tips and advices. I'm trying to cath a bream with a feeder, but after last session it would be nice to catch anything I did my first session last sunday at lower Maynards (27/04/2014) and it was my first fishing session in UK. I was using Drennan 7 series feeder rod and cage feeders ( all my life i was fishing in big and strong rivers, so still water fishing for me is completly new thing). Groundbait was Sensas Bream 3000 for a base and micro pellets (trout/hallibut) + sweet corns and maggots. But that didn't work at all, i had only one bite. I tried various sizes of the hooks (12/16), i tried worms, corns and maggots on the hooks in variuos mix. Line was 0.13 mono in various lenghts. I met a lot of anglers on the lake, but they all was hunting for a carp so not many advices received. I was using "running feeder" system. Looks like i tried everything at that time, but nothing helped. It was no sunny and little bit windy day with few drops of rain. I will try maybe tommorow and monday again, so i would like to have more info, or any tips that can help me. I know for sure that i will buy method feeder and i will try to use more sweet groundbait, because water is getting warmer. I'm gonna keep updating this section after my sessions, hopefully with some pics of the fish Thank You in advance for any tips and help.
  13. Hello, my name is Evaldas. I came to this country almost two years ago, but just now i'm starting my fishing journey. I used to be in sports fishing team(feeder fishing) back home, so i'm gonna keep going this way, because UK is one of the leading countries in feeder fishing and i need to improve my fishing skills. Just it's hard to get with a right people, because most of them is mad about carps and i like active fishing with a lot of action. Hardest thing for me is to find places where to fish. I live in Waltham Abbey and i was last sunday in Walthamstow Low Maynard reservoir (first one acros the road from ticket office) and it was a big disappointment, not even a bite... So looks like i have to improve my skills and knowlegde a lot. Have a nice day everyone and sorry for my english, i need to improve as well )
