  1. I had not been to the dentist for fifteen years through the sheer terror of being 'butchered' as mentioned above. Recently I had to take Mini Onions to the dentist to have an infected tooth removed. She was utterly unperturbed, but what a difference - music playing, continual explanation of what the dentist was doing and what my daughter could expect to feel, kindness and consideration. The whole experience persuaded me to go and I'm really glad I did. I had to pretend I was going somewhere else to get over the nerves, but it was, honestly, o.k. I've had a root canal / crown job done, a deep clean under the gums and two fillings replaced. IT DIDN'T HURT AT ALL, despite her slightly sinister S.A. accent! ( memories of 'Running Man'} Maybe you could find a child companion to take your friend to the dentist, perhaps 'lookng after' somebody younger would give him the courage to go ahead himself. I really hope he makes it, a healthy mouth feels so good and ingesting infected stuff can't be good for your general health. Feel the fear and do it anyway.....as long as it doesn't involve jumping out of aeroplanes eh?
  2. It's easy to tell the difference between 'mind tricks' and a visitation. 'Mind tricks' are not accompanied by the feeling of slipping away from here and now. Genuine contact with the Spirit world take you out of your physical awareness of how you are feeling at the time. O.K. I'll shut up now.
  3. "Hickory daquiri, Doc!" Can't wait for Mick and the kids to get home to share that one. Ya got me, Newt. LOVE IT! xxx
  4. Thanks, Dan, and Bless you for not making giving up cider one of your suggestions!
  5. YES!!! The little monsters fly straight in through my french doors and congregate round my cup of cider.
  6. Clouds of the little bu**ers pouring out of the compost bin every time we lift the lid....can they be stopped?
  7. Probably to fit in with Lizzy's arduous workload!
  8. The Spirit of my husband's Father, whom I never met, is often with us. Mr. Onions was sceptical at first, but I have since convinced him by sharing details of things that happened when he was a boy, the place he grew up in and phrases and sayings his Father often used. As far as I'm concerned, 'ghosts' are just beings you can't always see even when you can hear them and feel their presence.
  9. Hi honey, V-shaped pillows are FAB! I found them especially useful during my pregnancies, especially in the later stages when trying to get comfortable became a bizarre art form! I reckon any of you lads with pregnant lasses could earn loads of Brownie points if you buy one as a prezzie.
  10. They're o.k. when punched into black humour. How many does it take to fill the Albert Hall?
  11. Recreational? Must be Pampers then. Welcome, Geo. Trust only Nursejudy - she's the sane one!
  12. Dick Van Dyke alledgedly. What time is it really?
  13. Thankyou, Anthony. Wedded bliss takes up most of my spare time these days and we're off fishing most weekends. Mini Onions excelled herself on her first boat trip last week, she landed a 10lb small eyed ray - not bad for a 7yr old eh? I must have another bash at getting pics on here!
  14. I was once served deep fried, battered pickled onions. I took it as a death threat!
  15. Spoke to Alan on Friday evening, he was struggling to breathe but his sense of humour was raring to go - as usual -. He reckoned he was organising a tunnel digging party, for himself and three nurses. He then decided that one of the nurses was too fat to squeeze through so he was only taking two with him! Delighted to hear he's on his way home but I reckon he'll struggle to open the front door against the pile of birthday cards.
  16. No! What would you like to be turned into?
  17. "You do something to me" - Paul Weller. What, in your opinion, is the best way to cook dogfish?"
  18. Great sex = sleep the sleep of the contented!
  19. Query the quickness of the quiver. (tee hee)!
  20. Alan - hope you and Sonja received my wee prezzie. More to the point, hope you have enough puff to breathe in their scent when they bloom.....sorry, same ol' iffy sense of humour.... Thinking of you both as ever, Love, Onions. xxx
