  1. just make sure you take plenty to drink with you is my advice and forget evian. Try spelling it backwards!
  2. never seen barbel under water! Grumpy buggers!
  3. id use swimfeeder with red maggot or redworm as hookbait.
  4. Big G i dont think you have got the concept of the third world, stuff removed 99.9% of the time its not the peoples fault but their own government. You cant eat with a gun in your mouth! All that bother in sudan wont be sorted by a few quid from us. Thats their government at fault too. more stuff removed Think about what you post before you do!!! edit note: please read & heed your last statement. Newt [ 04. 5. No i havent. Ive got 1 feeder rod, 1 carp rod, 1 pole, 1 float rod, 1 pole, infact ive got 1 of everything i need. I only buy new things when the old is nackered. Having too much tackle only makes it more complicated.
  6. I definately think that fish of that size have 'experience' if you like. Like a wise owl.(no pun intended on shef wed winning the playoff final which they will). Its like you knowing where the best pint is, if it dont taste nice you dont go. If you kept getting caught on boilies, pellet, maggots etc. You would soon learn that those foods get you caught. Like someone with an allergy, if it doesnt suit you, you dont eat it!!! The fish just get wise.
  7. All i can say is with all fishing. Keep it simple thats all. Those shot by dinsmores are the best thing to happen in fishing since maggots. Twist put it on your line and squeeze. exellent dont know what they are called but they are good.
  8. there are some great deals to be had on ebay but you definately have to sort through the crap. Its like being at a jumble sale. There is always something of value but you have got to find it. I bought a dutch fish plate at st lukes hospice shop for 80p sold it on ebay for £25. Go shop around in these places it benefits you and the charity. its what its all about!
  9. as elton says its not switching just another bit of the old armoury. I float fish, polefish, feeder fish, and even known to crab line. hows that.

  11. for me it has to be netting a bagfull of carp off the top non stop action. so good your arms feel like youve been pumping iron and your falling asleep on the way home. fantastic. The other fish has to be rudd and roach when you get the fish so frantic it makes the water boil. thats an exiting feeling. I love perch too, i like there gutsy way, especially the small ones. They see a maggot and theyre going to eat it, and thats that.
  12. peter i have a rod thomson feeder rod and its lovely but do you find them a bit fragile? i dont thing they take much hammer. please Pm me if you find the time.
  13. fry it to toughen it up? you might a well cut up your dockers and use that instead!pepperami doesnt float. Ive used it once or twice and never had much luck on the stuff so i eat it instead. use it straight out of the packet its tough enough. on a size 12 hair rig. barbless of course.
  14. A plastic bag in the trent doesnt half put up a fight! like bringing a marlin in. Id say the weakest has to be a skimmer bream but i must say ive had a few, but not many that have pulled a little must have been on steroids. Newt i thought pumpkinseed was a native fish but not common??? enlighten.
