Thanks Phone I already realise it's about my son more than me,, my rod does not spend too much time in the water at moment lol.. but i get a massive thrill watching him catch,, he even pulled in his last few carp without me hardly helping,,, don't see nearly enough kids fishing nowadays and we need to get the young ones into the greatest pastime in my mind. cheers Dean

Hi Mat I'm in Harlow, south essex. I am lucky to have a lot of very good commercial fisheries around and although i don't mind carp they dominate so many waters. Now a lot of these waters have good tench so i maybe need to work out how to target the tench better ? thanks Dean

I would join in a shot if i lived nearby,, fished it once, Milton lake, a i love tench and the lake had plenty of lilly pads close in when i was there,, perfect for me as i love tench and a picturesque swim. Would love to hear of any decent tench venues around essex and surrounding areas Dean

Hi Everyone new to the forum I have just got back into angling after a 7 year break which i took when my son was born he turns 7 next month so i am now teaching him to fish I have taken him 4 times and he already has caught carp up to 6lb mostly on the pole which is a new way of fishing for me to so we both learning together!! I am still teaching rod and line too. cheers Dean
