  1. I'm only going by what they say. I had a good day on it and was pleased with the tench I caught, as well as the silvers. To be honest it's not often I catch tench that need two hands to hold. 4lbs might not be big for you but as a prodiminebtly pole (ex match) fisherman, it is for me. I did find it strange it's described as quite a good perch spot but I didn't have any, or any carp. But like I said it's the first and only time I've fished Eden. One downfall I'm certain of is it has crayfish.
  2. How far can you travel? If you think it's worth it there's a fishery in Lingfield called Beaver Farm. Has a tench pond called Eden Pond with tench up to double figures. Fished it for the first time two weeks ago on the pole and had about 6-7 tench up to 4lbs. Good size roach and some skimmers as well. It's tiny though and shallow in most spots. I was fishing just under 2ft depth. Conventional tench baits only netted me bream and roach. Caught all the tench on Krill hook pellet. They were all over my swim though, hemp as a feeder worked really well and there were tench bubbles all day long. I think a good feeder set up and perhaps an over nighter could net some of the bigger tench. Probably about 1hr 20 mins drive away for you.
  3. Easiest option is buy some hook pellet. Any tackle shop with have some sort. Come in 4, 6 and 8mm mainly. A whole range of flavours or some shops elect to sell natural ones and you can buy liquid flavours for them. 6mm hooks ok into a size 14 minimum. Brands differ but most of them are pretty good at staying on the hook and coping with nibbles from small silvers.
