yes screaming reels was designed to be a bit wacky and appeal to a younger audience, my uncle (RIP) hated it but he was old school. i remember the one with steve in it fishing for perch. i liked it a lot

To be honest i think most people can see right through mr Wade, still it's a bit of fun and maybe a kid might be encouraged to take up fishing because of the show he puts on.

I dont think there will be mackrel will there? they are gone from round my bit of coast this time of the year. fishing from a pier with a carp rod is fine, keep it simple should be some whiting still around, ask in a local tackle shop as what bait and hook size to use. tight lines

good luck , i was out and had about 20 small roach and rudd on the whip, my feeder rod did not budge. my brother had a samll carp on a carp rod and boilie and about 60 small roach on the float.

I think Peter was refering to still waters which can be fished in the close season. to be honest if you choose to break rules or laws then you need to take any punishment on the chin.

this weather is still so up and down we need it to be settled for a bit, after xmas i want to give it a go for perch and pike.

Hi there is no official season on lakes but some do close either clubs or day ticket lakes you can always check. rivers are closed from 15th March till 15th June inclusive for coarse fishing.

My own view is that carp and carp fishing is not to blame for overstocked commercial fisheries and it was match fisherman that demanded these type of waters. I suppose toughing it out on a canal in winter for a few very small gudgeon and perch these type of venues seemed ideal. As many have put it they have their own problems. The trend in carp fishing is to go for bigger fish, and for fish to get big they need less competition so the trend is for lower stocking where the session carp angler is the customer. This leads to some fantastic waters where flora and fauna flourish. Too often carp anglers are said to be to blame for the rise of the carp puddle when actually its the fault of match anglers.

Next year i want to take a week off to go fishing every day want to do some LRF (light rock fishing) some overnight carp fishing and stalking chub. with the weather getting colder now though i think i may opt for some pike fishing.
