  1. Nice one Ken, and a nice little write up.

I keep thinking it's about time I headed back out with my rods. Just seems like there's not enough hours in the day these days, there's always something I've got to do, somewhere I've got to be or someone needs my time.

It would be nice if it actually stopped raining for a few days too!!!

The Data Protection Act is your friend.

Drop them a "Subject access request" for details of everything they hold.

I'd add to that that you should make sure you ask for a printed copy, otherwise you are likely to just get an email containing a file of meaningless computer code.

  3. Might be worth keeping an eye on this ebay seller Ken - https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_ssn=home-un-leisure&_sop=1

If you click on "ending soonest" and "auction" you'll see that they list things at silly start prices, i've seen the poles they sell go for peanuts.

I've had a couple of rods and a rod holdall off them for far cheaper than I should of expected to pay.

I know it's a bit short, but just as an example - https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/315074257652?hash=item495be3a2f4:g:kZMAAOSwVhpkYgc7

  4. I'm hearing stories like this almost on a weekly basis. The unfortunate truth is that you just can't put any faith what-so-ever in the NHS anymore. I remember a time when one thought if one gets ill then the NHS was there to take care of you and you'd be in good hands.

These days I wouldn't trust them to look after a pet hamster, the NHS is nothing but a very bad joke.

.......and the doctors have the nerve to say they don't get paid enough and go on strike!

Hoping Mrs Chesters feels lots better Dave.

  5. I did try a squid (If I remember correct) boilie many years ago whilst fishing for mullet in a harbour, think it was Weymouth. Think I had bites but didn't manage to hook any. As Ken mentioned, I always did ok with a chunk of bread fished under a float or free lined in a cloud of mashed bread.

They hide bad news if at all possible ,who's paid enough to tell people really bad news ?.

.....or you get a tw*t of an oncologist who tells you that you've got untreatable lung cancer and six months to live, which then turns out to be a nasty case of pneumonia that went undiagnosed and untreated and nearly killed me instead.

  7. I had an appointment with the nurse on monday for BP and a blood test. She asked me why i'd missed a 30 minute earlier appointment with another nurse??????

What for I have no idea, and I didn't even know I had another appointment for 30 minutes earlier.

It may have been a good idea to have let me know, and why two appointments with two nurses 30 minutes apart?????  :D
