  1. That last goal they gave away was a blunder. Nothing to do with bad luck.
  2. Okay ladies and gents, predict this one. Will England get through to the next round or not? [ 14. June 2004, 11:52 AM: Message edited by: corydoras ]
  3. To be fair, I have been driving around in Southall and Hounslow a lot in the last couple of weeks and I have seen loads of Asians flying George's Crosses from their cars. [ 14. June 2004, 11:03 AM: Message edited by: corydoras ]
  4. So true. At the end of the day it is only 22 guys kicking a bag of wind about.
  5. Thanks Newt! I guess that I could have Googled for that all by myself. That is what I would have guessed though. A bit like the Med, no real tides to speak of. [ 14. June 2004, 12:12 PM: Message edited by: corydoras ]
  6. It looks as if we were right after all. I did not want to try to predict the score, but I was sure that France would win.
  7. Not me. usually to knackered afetr being up all night
  8. I did not say that I wanted them to win. The title of the topic is 'prediction time' not 'who are you going to support' I predict that France will win. C'est tout!
  9. Jim Thick or thin lipped?
  10. First of all the French don't hate the English at all. I am a Scot and I have loads of French relatives and friends. What the French dislike are English people who won't make a small effort to speak thier language when they go to visit their country. Meet the French half way and you will find a bunch of very hospitable people that really know how to have a good time. And they don't let their government p!ss them about like we do ours either.
  11. Nightwing We all know that the Great Lakes are immense, but tell me do they have tides?
  12. I'd go for Demon. You get a fixed IP address, handy if you want to host your own http server one day.
  13. i tell you what mate, stay there!!   I fully intend to. Got my flat, got the phone in, all I need now is a job.
  14. Since I am going to be in France on Sunday I'll have to back the Auld Alliance. Vive les Blues!

  16. Rudd Not invented expressly for this purpose but has been used that way. Superglue (cyanoacrylate)was discovered by Kodak when they were doing some research into clear plastics for gun sights.
  17. I am talking distances 'as the crow flies' not distances by road, rail, bicycle or mule train.
  18. quote: Originally posted by *Anthony*: Think I maybe the furthest away as i'm in South Staffordshire. The closest is, I think, Bristol or Queensferry in North Wales. Around 100 miles or there about. Anthony It cannot be that far. The furthest you can be from the sea in the UK is about 70 miles. I believe that the village/town that is furthest from the sea in the UK is Coton in the Elms, Derbyshire.
  19. From my house in Southampton, a mile or so at most. From my pad in Luc-Sur-Mer in sunny Normandie about 100 meters ( or 500 if the tide is out)
  20. Fujitsu never were any good at making hard disks IMHO. Look here to see what I mean.
  21. Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder
  22. Pound for pound, I would have to say yes. Hooking a 6lb mullet is a bit like getting tangled up on the back actor of a JCB
