  1. Hi fallers, just a note to say thank you for giving us the opportunity to fish the recent zander fish-in you held, both Dave and I really enjoyed the session as well as enjoying meeting some of your forum members who where all very nice and pleasant to talk too. Here's an account of my experience... Once there we choose our swims and eagerly set up, we noticed the water had quite a flow on it therefore a heavy weight was in order to keep the bait in one place. I cast my first two rods without problem but when it came to chucking out the third it snapped just above the Ferrule, I were gutted about that because this is the second time one of these rods has broke on me. It weren’t too long before Dave had his first pike which boosted our spirits but I’ll let him tell you about that. I waited all day and night for a run but nothing showed and at first light the following day I brought in the rods to re-bait. After baiting up with sardine head and lamprey, I chucked out the sardine then set the rod on the rest, turned round to pick up the other rod and I got a run, hit it right away due to line peeling off the spool but when I struck there was nothing there. I reeled in the bait then chucked out the lamprey and no sooner it hit the floor something picked it up, I had the bail arm off at this stage allowing the line to pull through my fingers, I could feel the fish shaking the bait but I still let it take line, this carried on for around 40 seconds then I struck, felt the fish on but it dropped off, I was shaking like a leaf because I was pretty sure it was a zander and not a pike. Budgies teach-in I saw no further action despite trying different baits, rigs and a lot of moving the baits around but on the last night Dave come up with the idea of using a single hook loaded with worms so we both tried that as it was something different to what other anglers were using that never worked either. Here’s a few more pictures I took whilst there. Thanks again lads for a great time, your fish-in has give us the bug to catch a zander so the quest is now on Keep Fishin Andy
  2. Hi all, if possible I'd too would like to attend your Fish-in, I've never caught a Zander before and would love to get my mits on one
  3. Hi, just like to thank all at Anglers Net for making it possible for me to fish your recent ‘fish-in’, I’d also like to thank Steve and Peggy Burke for hosting the event and for giving me the chance to fish such an outstanding fishery, thank you very much. I’d also like to thank the Water Bailiffs who obviously work very hard in maintaining the fishery’s high standards and for transporting our luggage to our swims, thank you. Also like to thank Budgie for putting us up on Friday night, (if you’re ever selling that camp bed Budgie lemmie have first shout) best nights sleep I’ve had in ages! Thanks mate. I was also very pleased to be able to fish next to my friend Andrew Burgess and appreciate the effort the management carried out for this to happen, great stuff. After humping the gear over the fence I walked into the peg which had been allocated to me (47), lots of room and some really good underwater features to fish too. After using a marker float to help find those features I baited up using plastic sweet corn on one rod and a maggot clip on the other. Shortly after tea I was sat in the biv sorting rigs out when Andrew shouted ‘I’m in Andy’- Andrew has told you about that . Was hoping to catch a perch whilst fishing at Wingham and quite often changed over to worm on both rigs but it never happened, knew I wouldn’t catch any eels because they were all in Budgies swim, LOL. I saw a little action Sunday evening; lost one, had a screamer then landed a 6lb tench soon after on a maggot clip, (thanks for taking the picture Andrew) Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to fish your fish-in, Wingham is a beautiful Fishery and one which I will always remember fishing. Keep Fishin Andy

  5. MMMMM!! I think some of you should hang your rods up and get a playstation game instead...You will save a fortune LOL!
  6. Hey Julian Hey ozz thanks for the info on the Boilies, sorry its took me so long to reply but been out fishing and what have you. your input is well appreciated. Ozz you say your in Essex on the 23rd, well we are off down there on Sunday 13th not sure how long we plan on staying but its a small world... look out for UNCUT FISHING. All the best and Spining Spools to you!!
  7. Way hey, Yessss! they are the ones Hoowzie. I am still none the wiser where to get them from though. If your brother has had the same luck in the past as I have had with them he's not going to give them away. Or is this some kind of scam to try and get as much money from me as you can Lmao! If anyone know's where I can get these types of Boiies then Gizz a yell. Cheers all!
  8. I'm glad I came across your artical Howzie and I am even happier that you got some info on where you could get the Boilies your after. Perhaps somebody can help me? Rod Huthcy used to do a bait(not sure of the name)maybe "stinger magic" if its of any help to anyone they where green in colour. I am of the understanding Huthcy sold out to another company and does'nt have much to do with the Boily side of things now, but if anyone can help me find these green "Boilies" or the alternative then please just yell!! Thanks!
  9. Hi everybody! I see a lot of people in the list are saying to young anglers that they do not need the best of equipment to servive in the Caripng fraternity... I have to ask you Gentlemen or Ladies who actually go on the banks of our venues!! What tackle they have...(most probably the best)... Carp fishing is becomming somewhat of a style and the magazines which are on our shelves are not aimed at people like our selves because we already have the equipment. What the Mags are really saying is that" come on parents! you never had the stuff so let your son/daughter have it. So you end up with the bug as well and end up spendind twice as much money... Fishing is for enjoyment not for who can better!! Its whats on the hook what counts and not whats on the Bank!!!! Andy from http://www.uncutfishing.co.uk
  10. Hi all I have to agree with Mort.. He seems to have a laid back oppinion and wise veiw and an understanding of how the Bivys/(Bivies)actually work, in the summer time they are great!!! Winter they are Pooo!( unless ocompanyed with an over wrap!! but when all said and dune (your going to pay for your comfort) and I can only say what I feel! I'm going to stick to mi JRC overwrap for my 60" Brolly which cost me £60 (storm poles included)However I do have condensation problems and I also have a little problem with the Zip department but its as big as the dillo and poses the same problems! What the hell!! (It beats the **** out ta sitting in a dillo and wondering what the FeK ya spent ya money on; when its ******* in!(Heavely) The price for a JRC overwrap will be a lot less substansial than an Armadilo's. I look at it this way "its not whats on the bank its whats on the the end of the hook that counts" I have fished in high winds and hard rain at the Shimano Linear lakes and had no problems with the overwrap or the Brolly!!!! Get one M8 Andy from http://www.uncutfishing.co.uk [ 15. February 2003, 03:20 AM: Message edited by: longshank ]
  11. Hi Andy Thatcher The answer to you question is that its a Tracker Armadilo and I have met other people whilst fishing and they have had exactly the same problems as me... Leaky seams etc. I only wish I would have waited an extra 3 weeks for an Aqua one, but even with these you need to get your self an over wrap. If you are on a session for a couple of days and you don't have an over wrap (your sleeping bag ends up wet through due to the condensation which gathers inside.... Don't be fooled M8 the total cost for the Armadilo is not £300 pound but nearer to £500 for it to be of full use to you. Cheers Andy [ 14. February 2003, 05:59 PM: Message edited by: longshank ]
  12. Hey macdaddymac I take it your talking about an over wrap for a umberella... If so I have got a JRC one and have had it for two years, its ok but a bit flimsey round the zip department Failing that everthing else is ok. Hope this has been of some use to you PS you will find you need an over wrap for that over wrap because they condensate heavily Andy from http://www.uncutfishing.co.uk [ 14. 14. Hi ya Neil, I only found anglersNet yesterday and I am hoping its not to late to give you a bit of advise on your new Bivy! I have got an Armadilo infact I have had several of them due to keep sending them back to the shops because of problems like leaking and very heavy condensation. Be warnded M8 if your going to fork out £300 for your bivy then I gotta tell you (You need an over wrap for it) at a further cost of £179. your Bivy now stands you at just short of £500... Get your self a cypri dome m8!! lot less hassle Andy http://www.uncutfishing.co.uk
