DO NOT OPEN THE POWER SUPPLY you will end up killing yourself. I cant see replacing a cdrom will kill the computer, i have done this many times on my systems and customer systems try pushing all the leads down on the mother board esp those that goto cdrom and hard drives as these come out very easy. When you cleared the cmos did you change the jumper over then switch it on, replace the jumper and switch it back on? if looking for a new pc check out comet this weekend they have a system in there for around 400 thats not to bad [ 23. as a general rule yes, but most cameras have a low resoultion and a high resolution low res use less space so if you got a 32mb memory ad used low res you could store say 4 pictures on high res it prob only be 32 photos, (you shoud get more than 64 photos to a 32mb card tho) around 3 megapixels is roughly the same as a 35mm camera

look on ebuyer they got some good ones under a £100, the trick is with digi cams make sure you get the highest pixels possible for your money, 1mega pixel is rather poor 2 is bearable and they go up to 6 megapixel for £70-£100 you should get about 2.1 mega pixels, another thing is make sure you can upgrade it via a smart card cf card or memoery expasnion, no point getting one with 16mb of on booard memory if you cant upgrade it as thats about 20 decent photos, Ones with screens are usefull as well as you can preview the picture before you decide to save it

you can buy a spray to water proof it from places like millets, its ok does the job but you will prob need 2-3 cans fr a bivvie and its not cheap. Another thing to use is something called seam sealer and it does er what it says its got like a rollerball and you run it along the seams, it does leave a white residue behind on the windows and that but it comes of in a short space of time

on a serious note, either make sure the person "instructing" knows you well, or make sure they are quailified and have some sort of creditation NFA or PAA,

we got to go back to step one here, when you opened the case to take the old one out is it possible you knocked one of the power cables to the motherboard? Is the ribbon lead the one you took from the cd rom in the right way the red side of it must go to pin 1 on the cd rom, check the cable to the hard drive as well. Another thing did you keep 1 hand on the case all the time it was open?

Kleinboet what i was getting at was some of the comments in mainly the sea fishing section which wasnt just taking the mick they was posted to aggrevate or offend other users, im all for having fun and things like that but when it becomes a personal attack on someones intellegance or beliefs or anything like that i stop seeing the funny side of it
