  1. I have 2 unclaimed prizes from the worldseafishing 'v' CastandCatch match from December 9th and there up for auction The first item is a massive Icey-Tek cool box, ideal for any boat for keeping your catch fresh, or a butty box for Keith N The second Item is a Penn 525 mag, even Big Dave H could'nt birds nest with this reel The auction will run for 'around' 7 days so put ya bids in , all I ask is that if yer the lucky winner, make a cheque out to the RNLI , plus whoever wins the Icey-tek box collects it from the Wirral as it wont fit through the letter box !!! The box is the massive 56 Litre one and the reel is the 525 mag £60 bid on the reel The auction is being held HERE on C&C and also at WSF HERE
  2. Myself and Wokkie got to the emerging sandbank around 4:30pm, light southerly winds made it comfortable to fish the venue, plus the tide was easing out rather than running like a steam train  Fishing was dead for the first hour, then I caught a dab, unhooked it and returned it to the water, after that, I had 3 small codlings, with one being insize, all returned to hopefuly survive and produce some future stock. Wokkie was very quiet, as he BLANKED! Which to be honest, is unusual, but it happens to us all now and again. We packed up around 7pm just as the light rain was starting to fall, nice couple of hours fishin on me doorstep Wallasey Town Hall from the beach Mersey dab Codling, ( you'd think I'd of smiled!) Wokkie wiping his tears away and sulking!
  3. Got myself down to the prom nice and early, 7pm to be exact! 5 hours before high tide and there was enough water to cast a bait out at the Seacombe end of the promenade Around 8pm the prom started to get more anglers and it doesn't seem to matter where I set up, there's always someone who sets up 10 yards away from me, although there is a couple of miles of space! A couple of small codling came out then dabs and a few whiting, lovely evening with the view of Liverpool city making a cracking view. One strange thing though, in one of the codlings mouth was a sandeel!! It's true I tell yer! Now I know I'm up for some stick on this, as sandeel don't (as far as I know it) live in the Mersey in the winter months, the only other explanation is that it was thrown out by another angler and the codling took it, then I caught the codling??? Small codlings are plenty in the river Plenty of dabs too One of the best views in the world No it's not April fools day
  4. Great mini turn out for Vale park this afternoon, Myself, sparky, ecky, Peter, Moxy, squidgy, Danny LOL , Big Dave, wokky, MrBay and his pal Ian? Early start meant a a quick paddle over to the sandbank!!! All fished a few hours to before low, fishing was steddy with only a couple codling to over 2lb, lots of whiting dabs and smaller codling caught in a 3 hour session, back to mine to sample wokky ribs, curry, a cuppa tea or can of beer, then wokky , squidgy, ecky and peter went onto fish Hall Road.
  5. Another beauty was captured earlier today this one weighed in at 20lb 1oz Caught from aboard Jensen whilst fishing the River Mersey
  6. Another nice one caught today from The River Mersey This time 21lb
  7. What a cracker Paul Lonsdale from North Wales was aboard the Olivia Jeanne, Skippered by Martin Jones when he hit into this superb fish. weighed in at exactly 22lb! They lost another fish that comparable with this one!
  8. Myself, Calum and Steve got to Mariners Wharf quite early, only to find a few of the lads already there Good job there was plenty of food and we all stopped to talk to each other, as the fishing was slow, plenty of Codling and Whiting with Calum also getting his first ever 3 bearded rockling Myself and LOL strategically setup next to the food well no point in having to walk to the food if yer can fish next to it As I was pushing the trolley with the gas bottle on, two lads asked why so many fishing, I replied that some lads from a website were having a little meeting with some food, one of them said " oh I seen you on the tinternet" fame at last I though then the gobshyte said" Your Sparky arn't you!"  Can't type what my reply was There were loads of lads that I've never met before and it was great to get to know them too  After Keith awarded me the Rod of Shame, we needed someone to win the Mustad Suit donated by Gerrys of Morecambe Paul (MrBay) and myself decided it should go to the worst dressed Angler It didn't take much to see who the C&C tramp was Lenny ( Greengrass) was by far the tramp of the day Mavrik came down to say hello to the lads and it was a magnificent effort by him walk so far  Good to see you my old friend  Chris from Moreton Angling also came down to keep an eye on LOL to make sure we weren't abusing him too much All in all a very good day with lots of new faces to names
  9. 06:30 ChrisP arrives at my house and we have a very quick brew before going onto Priory Wharf to meet the other lads, Smithers, Dave and Phil were already in the car park, but no sign of Wokky, Squidgy or Sparky! Then my phone rang and it was squidgy asking were where we? I thought he’s got lost or something, then he explained he and Ray were at Priory wharf?? After looking around, I noticed two snide little runts laughing their heads off , on board Suveran! The crafty, snide horrible gits had already boarded on the other side of the river 2 hours earlier , snydey@rseand his apprentice ( snide short @rse) had already caught some nice codling before we had chance to get out of our cars! Ray greeted us in the usual way. Sparky was nowhere to be seen, we hung around and I tried to phone him, but to no avail, he was not to join us on a day of bad weather, fair fishing and great banter amongst new and old friends. Chris P was introduced to the wonderful fishing conditions of the River Mersey today, we could all tell he was very impressed with the strong tidal run and the constant rain! I caught him looking for his gun to shoot us all for bringing him on such a nice day! The sky never lightened, but for me, it was great to be out in the elements, and it’s not as though we don’t have a nice fire to go home to at home, albeit in 8 hours time ! Fishing was slow at first with plenty of 2lb codlings , Mark was cursing the castandcatch badge for his blanking, then his luck turned and a steady stream started to come in The banter began slowly at first then it was non stop, with plenty of blue lights for Ray supplied by Chris Mark tried to say he caught this! But he was seen nicking the squid out of Chris’s baitbox Snide short @rse was in the lead with the biggest codling and sat there gloating Until Ray took the lead an hour or so from the end of the session But he did get some excellent sized whiting too and a double header of codling on one hook! Dave’s a cracking fellah to fish with, easy to get on with, funny and even caught a fish or two His lad too, ( Phil) done well, with plenty of whiting and codlings Big Baits proved to be the only way to fish the Mersey. Wokky went down in the Galley ( where the snide belongs and supplied us with lovely coated chicken drumsticks and Curry He later done the honours by ground baiting the river for us which will teach him to jump on the boat 2 hours before the rest of us. I made the usual cock ups, struck into a beast of a fish and fought it for about 5 mins before the line snapped! I was later to be told by Simon, the my fish was in fact the anchor rope as my rig was wrapped round it, also, the rain was very heavy and I decided to put my hood up on my Mustad jacket, only to find out it was full of rainwater, this amused ray the snide greatly, lastly, I did hook into a very good fish and it was pumping well, wokky got very excited and tried to , for want of a better word, Bum me! As my concentration was lost momentarily the line went slack! To say I sulked for a while would be a correct analysis Snide @rse had struck again!! Despite the rain, I thoroughly enjoyed myself and can’t wait ‘till next time, Simon Parry proved to be a great skipper and host with frequent brews and helped me immensely with showing me the best way to present bait, a cracking lad, who will undoubtedly become one of the best skippers around, if he’s not an International band leader, but that’s another story….. Special thanks to ChrisP for making the journey from carnarvon , picking my bait up from Ray at Victoria Pier Angling and for not shooting us for getting him out in this weather
  10. Daily updates of the front page with reports coming in from all areas, PLUS a fantastic deal on Sundridge floatation suits HERE
  11. Here's a few pics of the lads and supporters
  12. Adjourned 'till 9th December Supporters were outside and inside the court with TV & newspaper crews outside taking pics and asking a few questions
  13. posted by chesters1 quote: quote: not my words mate straight of the links page I know mate, I wasn't getting at you, in fact a few of the papers have got it wrong.
  14. Chesters wrote " Anglers must apply through the North West Angling Club Association for permission to fish on the port." TWODDLE!!! The NWASAC used to control the photographic passes for the docks and lost it through the new rules, They have ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the new regulations. Bad feelings are felt toward the NWASAC within a greater part of Merseysides recreational anglers for not keeping us better informed. I was once proud to be a memeber, I hope they support the lads in court and maybe, just maybe anglers will respect them again, www.nwasac.com The NWASAC website www.castandcatch.com The voice of the North West
  15. GF, I agree it is a total waste of tax payers money, why could the police not escort the two lads off the docks? But now that is has gone this far, it will be used as a vehicle to highlight the decreasing areas, we can fish. I only know about Liverpool docks, are other local docks now closed or restricted to anglers?
