Dryfly

Thanks Vagabond, It was a very windy day, reasonably bright, quite cold, in fact common "early season" weather. As a point, this particular fly is quite popular in this area, however I tend to think that it was the "flash" rather than the colour that made the difference. Any other thoughts?

While fishing a local stillwater recently, I was surprised by a fellow angler who was catching trout, one after the other on a black buzzer, with an "electric" blue thorax. No one else on the water was catching at anywhere near the same rate, and I wondered if anyone out there has had any success with this fly, or was it a case of "right place, right time"?

Do any of you fine people out there know of any stretches of the above river that can be fished on a day ticket basis? If so i would be obliged for details etc.
