  3. Hi Elton Thanks for your post, as you say there is a lot of damage that could be done to our sport if any of these new laws go against us. One of the main reasons for wanting livebaits banned is the spread of non indiginous species, there are hardcore elements that would like all non indiginous species removed from Scotland ! it will never happen but I bet they will be doing as much as possible to stop any future stocking etc Cheers Saul

Hi Glenn There is just toooooooooo much of it. Two thirds of the water is choked with it ( up to the surface) along with mares tails. The main thing I want to do is find out what it is so I can find out why it growing so well, as it might uncover a problem with the water. Cheers Saul

  15. Hi All What is the best time of year to fish for eel's ? Eel's normally give me the creeps pumpkin but after seeing some monsters swimming round a water I fish for carp I've got to admit I would like to have a go for them as they were so big Cheers Saul
  16. Hi Howard If you were catching on the scopex why change ? Baits like scopex and tuttis are well known for being quite instant where as the M8 might take a little while to establish with regular baiting but once they do get on it you should do ok. Mainlines NRG is well worth a try as it is quite potent"beware of the dip" ,I think something with a stronger smell may work a little better in a river as the flavours etc are washed out quite quickly in the flowing water. Cheers Saul
  17. Ok it looks like its some kind of Horsetail ,so how do I get rid of this nasty prehistoric pain in the arse  Cheers Saul

  21. Hi All I'm trying to identify a very nasty weed that has taken over a small pond I have. It's grown all the way into the middle of the pond which is about 8ft deep. It extends above the surface about a foot and has long tall stems thet look a little like thin chritsmas trees ,I will try and ad a pic but not sure if it will work ! I've tried to remove it manually but it just grows back in no time even after i've tried pulling up the roots  . Any ideas of how to get rid of it ?

    What chance ?

Sorry I'ts not working trying to make me feel any better I know this stretch of river too well ,It cannot take this amount of pressure from all these predators   Cheers Saul
  23. As a lad I used to fish a smallish river in my dads back garden with plenty of wild brown trout and the odd Grayling ,you could slaughter them trotting a bunch of maggots down the river. I recently went for a visit and took my rod for a quick bit of fun fishing not a bite ?????? Another visit today and my dad had told me he had spotted two otters harrasing a heron ! Then as we were talking about the otters ,three Gooseanders and a couple of cormorants turn up   Now I know why I didn't get a bite From a great little river full of fish to empty in a very short space of time ,very very sad indeed
  24. Here are two more for you. Fistly Mill Pond Station Road off Ferguslie main road. Glasgow. Durrukstock Pond Waverly Road Foxbar Paisley Glasgow. Both of these venues are worth a look for fish into 20's ,not bad for Scotland. Cheers Saul
