  2. Try Zyg rigs at night ,I had a take on one last night but sadly lost the fish on a buoy rope   Try it when there is high pressure and the fish are in the upper layers. Keep it real Saul.
  3. Hi All There is a trout water near me just outside Edinburgh with carp to mid 20's but you can only fly fish for them as I've allready asked about having a go for them with carp gear but its fly only. Any tips would be welcome as I would like to have a go for these fish. Cheers Saul.
  4. Any more waters to add to the list ??? Cheers Saul
  5. Interesting point about carp in rivers in Scotland I don't think the salmon boys are going to like that  As carp are in Lomond its not supprising that they might have a mooch up the Endrick but I dont know where else they might be , I would have thought the river Clyde would have a few in as its allready got Barbel and most other coarse fish. I can just see it now ,sitting on the banks of the Tweed with three carp rods out Cheers Saul
  6. Hi Owen How long ago was it when you saw the these fish ? Cheers Saul.

  12. Hi Winky Please list the waters that you know of ,any water will do as long as has carp in it fishable or not. The result of this post should end up being a Scottish Carp waters directory. This will help to improve carp fishing in Scotland. Cheers Saul Scottish Carp Group.
  13. There must be someone who can reply to this post ?
  14. We are having big problems in Scotland with otters. They are everywhere ,even in the heart of edinburgh ! The Scottish Carp Group are losing lots of fish every year and its getting worse ! Cheers Saul.
  15. Hi All Things are looking up as the specialist anglers alliance and the Scottish federation of coarse anglers are on the case. Many thanks for all the support Cheers Saul.
  16. Hi All I'm trying to put together a list of all waters that hold carp in Scotland. If you know of any please reply with, Name of water. Location. Stock if known. Contact details if known. Any other info. List waters even if you cannot fish them. Also try not to list waters that have allready been mentioned thanks. Many thanks Saul Scottish Carp Group.
  17. Hi Koi Carp Look in the yellow pages for pigeon feed or simmilar , you should be able to get 25kg of hemp for about £16 and lots of other goodies like maples and maze , 25kg of maze is about £6 Bargain ! KIR Saul..
  18. Hi Nathan I suggest that you dont use your float rod as a marker rod as it will not be up to the job and you will probably break it. Have a look at the Greys marker rod £70 ish and use a reel loaded with braid so that you can feel the lake bed. Cheers Saul.
  19. The M8 is good as is NRG Both can be instant but the more effort you put in the better your results will be ! Happy hunting Saul.
  20. Thanks Dibbly 88 All support welcome Cheers Saul Scottish Carp Group.
  21. I've recently heard of two more cases where SNH are objecting to carp in two waters. One where the fish have to be removed and one where they are not allowing carp to be stocked in to a fishery where carp allready exist. Looks like they really dont like carp What can be done ?? Saul.
  22. Hi Phil I'm interested in what you were suggesting with reguards to the angling press and SNH. The one thing I dont want to do at the moment is to upset them as they seem to see our side of the argument and are willing to have a meeting about the matter of the carp in Duddingston Loch. When this meeting happens I will need some Profesional backing / Help to argue our point of view and to help clarify the carp / alge / stock level ,situation. Keepin it Real & Alive Saul.
  23. Hi Phil Thanks for the reply , I have thought about that possibility but am not sure either , if anyone knows that this is the case please let me know. The most urgent issue with this situation is to stop anyone from being told that the carp have to be removed if caught,as this will probably mean the carp being killed or stolen. I also wonder what would be the penalty for returning a carp to the water as the park rangers keep on telling me that its illegal to return them ?? Cheers KIR Saul
  24. Hi All Its good to see other people are taking an interest in this subject as I can do with some help on this situation. I,ve just received an offical letter from Historic Scotland going on about the wildlife and countryside act 1981 ,section 14(1). They are sticking with this so we are apparently breaking the law if we return a carp to the water ?. Please get in touch if you can help with this situation. Many Thanks Saul Gardiner Scottish Carp Group. 0131 477 0742.
