  1. I guess Anglers don't play golf much
  2. Went to The Derwent Reservoir on Sat. 30th, caught two and lost two, Reservoirs are great!! my faith is restored!!
  3. Thanks for the encouragement, I liked Fewston, will return there soon, no problems with the licence as I have one, it's cheap and worthwhile!
  4. Have done the boat bit, plus wading at the reservoirs, felt more at one with the task in hand when standing thigh deep in water! When on the boat I found they way my line went straight down from the rod (when in deep water) a little different! also got in some fine tangles!
  5. Well I guess I'll continue to fish both large and small, as the reservoirs tend to be cheaper to fish and nicer more natural places, and the small fisheries will no doubt continue to cheer me up when times are tough! Thanks for taking the trouble, one and all.
  6. Hello all. This is my first post, so be kind to me? I am new to fly fishing and have so far fished Jubilee Lakes (Co Durham) and Narborough Trout Lakes (Norfolk) and two Reservoirs ( Sweethope and Fewston, My question is do you think it is wise for a beginner to try the larger stillwaters or stick with the higher stocking levels of the first two I mentioned. Yes you're correct, I blanked at the Reservoirs, Sweethope was last night and Fewston two weeks ago, I am now starting to question my technique etc (although a lot has yet to be learnt I admit) All advice welcome? Thanks.
