    New tank.

I know that feeling well. That`s why I built mine in situ. Rather you than me, them days are gone for me now. Getting rid of mine. Anyone want a 6 foot tank ?? Pick up only. Dave
  5. I don`t know if you have read your previous post on wanting to know where to buy certain flies !!! If you have then go with Selectafly, they will send you a catalogue and a few free flies with your order. There again if you haven`t read your post yet then perhaps you should. Dave
  6. The Dads Demoiselle, have a look here. http://www.fishingbig.com/fishing_tackle/f...elle_sz_10.html The Flyline Mayfly, http://www.fishingbig.com/fishing_tackle/f...mayfly_results/ Have a look at this Mouse. http://www.fishingbig.com/fishing_tackle/f...e_rat_sz_2.html Why not do a search on the site, I know you will find the Butcher and the Sinfoils Fry. New tank.

I made mine myself. All held together with silicone (Dow Corning). It realy makes certain muscles sqeak when filling it up. I was getting ready to do a runner before the other half got home if the glass went. . Dave

    New tank.

Hi Dave, my old marine tank was roughly the same size and from memory I think it went just over 1 Ton when fully loaded with all the coral sand and living rock. Hope you have that floor well strengthened, hate to here the people below you getting a free shower. Dave
  9. Tried to PM you but no luck and you have no E Mail address sorry. Dave
  10. Thanks guys for the compliments. Nice to know that we only have Reds here. Mind you some idiots have threatened to bring some Greys over. Dave
  11. These guys are like grease lightning, trying to get a shot of them is murder sometimes. They seem to be all settled in until you bring the camera up for a shot, then off they go. Did get one to take a nut out of my hand but no one there to take a shot of it. Must go to the hide again soon and see if I can get a few more shots of them. Dave
  12. Wouldn`t a standard replacement landing net cover the wheel !! Just a thought. Dave
  13. Looks like the Spinnaker Tower at Portsmouth Snatcher. Did you take it from the Island Ayjay ? Dave

    Trebles

Just back from holiday in Cornwall and all we used on the boat for the Pollack were 5 os with a small joey hooked through the nose. No problem with missed takes. Don`t know if I would want to use a treble. Dave

    Eels

There are quite a few Eels in the same family as the Fire Eel, have a look at the Tyre Track as well, same conditions, and do just the same and bury themselves under the gravel. Didn`t see one for months and thought it had died when it appeared on night fit and healthy. Dave
  16. FT The lillies also cut down on the amount of light getting into the and so stopping some of the algal bloom that colours it. Dave
  17. This one shows Canadian Pondweed http://www.microscopy-uk.org.uk/mag/artnov00/dwelodea.html This one is Duckweed. http://www.arkive.org/species/ARK/plants_a...ae/Lemna_minor/ Dave
  18. There is another small floating plant called Azolla, sometimes I think sold as fairy moss. This goes an orangey sort of colour in the Autumn and is not hardy except in some sheltered spots. Looks like small crinkles up the leaves and small hairs that keep it afloat I think. Might it be that in your tank. Dave
  19. Alan, are you sure it is Canadian Pond weed, it sounds more like Duck weed to me. I thought the Canadian stuff was long with small leaves as is sold as an oxygenating plant. It can get a bit vigorous mind and a tight eye kept on it. FT try to cover at least half the surface of the pond with water lilies to help keep the water clear. Dave
  20. We must be on the same wavelength, I went for a Black Trowel Dave
  21. Don`t know if he (shedhed)is still around S@M but a thanks for the links to knots might have been good. Dave
  22. Not a bad days fishing even if we did get cooked in the heat and the tide was running so fast 2.5lb. of lead wouldn`t hold bottom for long. Had to let enough line out to put a big enough belly in the line to hold. Sought of uptiding but downtiding if you know what I mean. Had some cracking Tope to 50lb. before we had to move as the tide was still making. Came inshore for a while and had some fun with small Pollack and Bream. Can`t wait for the next trip. Dave
  23. Could have a look here Shedhed. http://www.avingtontrout.com/knots.html Hope this is what you are looking for. Dave
