  1. LOL, no, I'm actually already Admin on a drumming message board I run!
  2. So how would I keep self-cocking floats in position on the line?
  3. Oh dear, looks like I've gotten my wires crossed! Can somebody explain the difference?
  4. Well guys, I've had a look at the floats and there is no hook. They just have the normal hole to thread the line through. The only difference they have to my normal wagglers is that they are clear and you can see the weights inside them.
  5. Thank you all for the warmest of welcomes, I can see you're a good bunch! I've already been getting questions answered, so cheers everyone.
  6. I bought a selection of waggler floats from my local tackle shop the other day, and although I didn't realise it at the time, they are of the self-locking variety. Can somebody tell me how I go about securing these to the line? Obviously with them self-locking, I can't use locking shot, so how is it achieved?
  7. Just a quick hello to everybody here, I'm the new guy. I'm also quite new to fishing. I'm 22 and a Computer Science university student from Cheshire. I've always been interested in fishing, having casually fished a few times when I was a young 'un, but its only very recently in the past couple of months that I've been bitten by the fishing bug again. I've dusted my tackle off and joined my local club, and now spend quite a bit of time down the bankside. I must say, being older and having a car to lug your equipment around in is so much easier. Anyway, I have a stack of newbie-type questions to ask, so I look forward to meeting everybody here and picking your brains.
  8. Thanks Apache, I apologise for not doing a typical first post and introducing myself, but I read this topic and felt compelled to put my point across. Frankly it was a barbaric thing to happen, and I strongly disagree with people who start feeling sorry for the offenders and side with them. Anyways, I'd best start typing my introduction post!
  9. Asylum seekers or not, invading a private fishery and killing a great deal of fish for your own gains is a disgusting act. Home grown poachers should be dealt with severly; asylum seekers should be deported if they can't behave. [ 21. September 2003, 12:39 PM: Message edited by: ClusterBomb ]
